Windows 10: Pc freezing and restarting at random

CPU: 5900x Mobo: asus dark hero Gpu: evga 3080 ftw3 1000w Corsair PSU, recently replaced Ram is 32gb 3600mhz Corsair vengeanceBuilt in 2020 initiallyMy pc has been restarting on its own plus when idle/low use it will go into some state where the only way I can recover it is by powering it down via the switch and restarting. Symptom of a bsod but I never see the blue screen to know. Oddly enough it hasn’t happened when I’ve been in a game yet, mostly desktop oriented stuff. I also run a plex server on this pc but I haven’t been able to tell if that’s involved in any way or just a victim as well

Random PC restarts and freezes with no BSOD

Hello, I've been having issues with my PC randomly restarting or freezing (the symptoms vary each time). Sometimes the display freezes and the audio stutters before the PC restarts, sometimes the PC restarts immediately, and sometimes it freezes without restarting at all.

I've tried several things to fix the issue:

• Reinstalling drivers
  
• Running system file checker
  
• Unplugging unnecessary devices (everything except my monitor, network card, keyboard and mouse)
  
• Reinstalling windows
  
• Changing the power board / multi-socket board that the PC is plugged into

Random Crash/Freeze on Build 10130


Hello everyone.

I have been running the Windows 10 preview for the last few months and other than a driver issue here or there, did not experience any real problems. However, with the last update to build 10130, I have been experiencing a random crash/freeze that manifests itself in one of two ways:

1. If I step away from the computer and come back before the monitor is set to go to sleep, I will come back to a frozen cursor, unable to do anything.
2. If I step away from the computer and come back after the monitor has gone to sleep, I will come back to a black screen, unable to do anything.

In both cases, I have to hold the power button in to shut down the computer for a restart.

Any direction or help would be greatly appreciated.

• What troubleshooting steps was already performed to your laptop?
