Windows 10: Pc gpu whine and lag

Hi ‍ so I need somebody’s help.
My gpu is whining when graphics are really needed. The thing is that this also lags the game really bad when I’m playing it. Also another kicker is that I just sent mine in for a RMA and got a new one yesterday yet this is still happening.

My build:
Asus prime motherboard

I7-9700K intel chip

2070 Super GeForce RTX

700 watt psu

2x8 GB Corsair ddr4

2 fan cpu radiators

Random lag spikes

• What browser are you using when you experience a lag?
• Does the lag occur in a particular game?

In the meantime, we suggest you run the System Maintenance troubleshooter. Here are the steps:

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Click on Control Panel.
• Select Troubleshooting.
• On the left pane, click on View All.
• Click on System Maintenance to run the troubleshooter.

can the GPU clockspeed cause PSU coil whine or is it the GPU voltage or GPU itself?

It is no uncommon, but it is not normal either. Electronic devices are not supposed to whine, buzz, "sing", or otherwise make noises on their own. Whine often suggests an excessive (abusive) load, but whine could suggest impending failure of a component - depending on the actual component producing it. That said, it could still last for years, or fail tomorrow. No way of telling.

If we are talking about the CX 750 listed in your System Specs, you most likely are not overloading the PSU. But note that the CX series of Corsairs is the next-to-lowest series of Corsair PSUs. The CX is basically a budget supply that sadly, does not live up the reputation the higher series Corsairs have earned. Coil whine in the upper series, TTBOMK, has not been a problem.

 

1070 whining sound

I lowered everythin even tried to do 30fps cut in nvidia settings i still got whine, high low fps doesnt matter it still there only its less noisy when with capped fps.

Ok guys I just checked my 1070 on friends PC there was no Whining sound or display interference/flickering. So it was PSU after all *Frown need to buy new one probably now. Any decent PSU for one GPU +SSDx1+soundcard that I can trust and will be more or less coil whine free from your experience. For another year or so *Smile
