Windows 10: PC hangs within 10 seconds of power on

    PC hangs within 10 seconds of power on


    Title says it all, I got into windows once the very first time I powered it on. I installed some new motherboard drivers and it asked me to restart so I did. Any time from that point on I cannot get into windows at all, I’ve tried all the methods I can think of including removing all drives, moving ram, different GPU different power supply, no USB devices connected etc. If you can think of it I’ve probably tried it with the exception of changing the CPU, RAM, and Motherboard. I took everything out of the case I reseated every connection tried different cables and outlets, I tried to boot into

    Hi vinodh,

    In step 3 you state to press enter after after each command but its written like one sentence,could you list them so we can identify each command please.my pc just hangs on "checking for updates" so i installed the win 10 updater and that just hangs on 99%
    so i will try what you suggest above.

    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

    Try the below suggested steps.

    Method 1

    1. Unplug all the external devices except Mouse and Keyboard.
    2. Try to reboot the device and check the status of the issue.
    Method 2

    I would suggest you to perform Power drain by following the suggested steps.

    1. Press and hold the Power Button down for 30-40 seconds.
    2. Hold the Volume Rocker up and Power ON for almost 20 second.
    3. Release the power button and wait for next 10-15 seconds.
    4. Press the power button to turn on your Surface and check the status of the issue.
