Windows 10: PC has suddenly lost any reference to availability of Wifi

Hello, my WIndows 10 PC has suddenly lost ability to connect to the internet, on further investigation i cannot find any reference to wifi at all in the settings, the wifi tab has disappeared, the only connectivity it seems to be aware of is via ethernet cable. It sometimes shows a greyed out flight mode box in the action centre, I have tried about a dozen different techniques to fix that but none have worked and this seems to be a slightly different problem as there is literally no reference to wifi anywhere any more. I didn't make any changes when this happened,

WiFi appears in Manage Known Networks, not in Show Available Networks

The list of WiFi connections shown when you click the WiFi icon in the taskbar is a list of all the signals that can currently be seen by the WiFi adapter. The list in Manage Known Networks is a list of all those you have previously successfully connected to, whether or not they are currently available.

The only plausible explanation is that for a while that WiFi signal had been turned off.

 

"WiFi- Show Available Networks" does not list wireless routers anymore

URGENT HELP NEEDED! HDD suddenly became blank!

I'd try re-plugging the hard drive and checking if the cable is damaged. I'd also suggest to try plugging the drive in another computer and see if it gets recognized properly there. Is it a IDE or SATA drive you're using?
If the drive is unallocated, this means that the partition has been lost after the power went down.
