Windows 10: PC Inactive Show Slideshow instead bug

"When my PC is inactive show slideshow instead of turning off the screen", this option under advanced slideshow settings inside lock screen is a complete mess for me, it doesn't work as intended and acts like it has a mind of it's own, I turn it off, and it starts working when im on power saving profile, when im on high performance, i turn it on, and it doesn't work, what the hell?

Lockscreen slideshow does not work


When I set my pc to show a slideshow on the lock screen after a few minutes of inactivity, it shows only one default picture instead of the pictures in the folder it is configured to use. If I look in the settings, there is some red text that says "You need more than one picture to show in your slideshow", even though there are eight pictures in the selected folder.

The "only show pictures that fit my screen" and "include camera roll folders" settings are off, and "when pc is inactive, show lock screen instead of turning off the screen" is on. I have DisplayFusion installed, but it is not set to control the screensaver.

Thanks for reaching out! I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you.

You can try these steps to troubleshoot the current issue.

- Go to "Settings -> Personalization -> Lock Screen" page and click on the existing folder containing the images for slide show feature.

- Now click on Remove button to remove the folder from the list.

Note: Do the same thing for all existing folders present in album list.

- Now re-add desired folder by clicking on "Add a folder" button.

- Now check if the slide show feature has started working by locking your computer using WIN+L keys together.

If the issue still persist after doing the above steps, try this instead.

- When you are on "Settings -> Personalization -> Lock Screen" page, click on "Advanced slideshow settings" link.

- Now set "Only use pictures that fit my screen" option to Off and set "Play a slideshow when using battery power" and "When my PC is inactive, show lock screen instead of turning off the screen" options to On.

  Where does the photos folder located?

  Did you try to change the folder location and check?
  

I suggest you to follow the below steps:

Step 1: If the photos folder is located on the desktop, try to create another folder and copy all the content to the newly created folder and add this folder for slideshow and check.



Step 2: Try to create new folder if different location and copy all the content to the newly created folder in different location and add this folder for slideshow and check.
