  1. PC infinity restarts and cannot get into winRE or Automatic Repair

I'm not too sure what happened, but my PC is stuck infinitely rebooting with the "unmountable boot volume error". Here are the things I've tried with no success.1. Simply restarting the computer2. Trying to manually get into the Windows Repair Environment by turning the computer on and off multiple times as instructed. It never launches the winRE.3. I've created a USB with the Installation Media. With that, I see a screen with "loading files" that seems to complete, followed by the Windows icon and the spinning timer. 2. PC infinity restarts and cannot get into winRE or Automatic Repair

I'm not too sure what happened, but my PC is stuck infinitely rebooting with the "unmountable boot volume error". Here are the things I've tried with no success.

    1. Simply restarting the computer

    2. Trying to manually get into the Windows Repair Environment by turning the computer on and off multiple times as instructed. It never launches the winRE.

    3. I've created a USB with the Installation Media. With that, I see a screen with "loading files" that seems to complete, followed by the Windows icon and the spinning timer. However, after that loads, the screen goes pretty much black. I say "pretty much" because a fractured white line that goes through the center of my screen pops up which seems to be pulsing or loading something. I've tried different monitors and it's the same thing, so it's definitely an error causes by the software. In the end, that black screen and pulsing white line remains and I am still not able to get into the winRE.

The one thing the USB Install Media is allowing me to do is get into various tools and start up modes like Safe Mode. However, it seems as if I try to launch even Safe Mode the same black screen appears.

If there is any suggestions on how to correct this, I'd be very much appreciative. Thanks.

    Hi Norman,

My name is Igor, it's a pleasure for me to help others and I'll do all my best to help you.

Please use Windows installation media and try a recovery steps described at

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/402603...

Note, Step 7 may be faulty unfortunately.

Please add /r parameter to the chkdsk command and show the result of this step.

  4. PC infinity restarts and cannot get into winRE or Automatic Repair

Stuck in a loop of Automatic repair then black screen then automatic repair could not repair the PC

    Hi Paul,

If Automatic Repair couldn't repair your PC, you can use
    Command Prompt
from the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRe) to resolve unbootable operating system issues. Please be guided by the steps below:

    • Use the power button to restart your computer three times. This will start the Windows Recovery Environment.
    • In the Windows Recovery Environment, on the Choose an option screen, click
      Troubleshoot.
    • Click Advanced options and then click Command Prompt.
    • Type the following commands and press Enter after each line:
      • bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd
      • bootrec.exe /fixmbr
      • bootrec.exe /fixboot
    • Restart your computer and check if the issue is resolved.

Let us know how it turns out.
