Windows 10: Pc is extremely slow to respond and crashes randomly for no reason. Why?

My computer seems to be running extremely slow. Sometimes it will just crash randomly and can only be restarted by hitting the power button. What else can I do?

To assist you with your concern, we suggest you to run the System Maintenance Troubleshooter to check and see why your PC is running slow and unresponsive. Here are the steps:

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Click on Control Panel.
• Select Troubleshooting. If you cant find the option, click View By and select Large Icons.
• On the left pane, click on View All.
• Click on System Maintenance to run the troubleshooter.

Laptop is RANDOMLY EXTREMELY SLOW AND NOTHING IS RESPONDING

Hello,

I urgently need ur help as i really do not want to loose any personal files.

My laptop has been working fine but since last week i had restarted my computuer and it has been EXTREMELY SLOW and NOTHING IS RESPONDING. There are no weird sounds, it boots up normally, it shuts down normally, only probelm is that its very slow and then
programs do not respond. I can access my files(ex. Viewing pics) but its very slow to a state that i cannot copy and paste files. Nothing from the bottom task bar works and i checked the task manager and its showing me 100% disk when nothing is even open.
My laptop does not crash and no the memory is no where near full. My laptop is three years old and this is a new problem for me. The lastest software i downloaded was a calculater software and the last thing i had done before this problem occured was a print
out from word. I am sure the calculator software is not the problem because i used the specific one that came with my graphing calculator and also, ive had it for around 2 weeks before this problem even arised. I have tried to do three of four system restores
and they all do not complete successfully. Please help and let me know what is the problem.

Acer Aspire E-15

intel pentium(quad core processor)

Intel HD graphics

4 GB DDR3 L Memory

500 GB HDD
