  1. PC Isn't Booting correctly after clean install of windows

So I made a post on here a bit ago asking if there was a way I could move just my OS and not my entire HD to my SSD, and everyone told me no, so I went ahead and did a clean install. Only issue is, it's messed up my pc booting. It's not a huge deal because I can bypass it and get my pc to run fine, and it's running MUCH better than it did before since the OS is on the SSD now, but at the same time I don't like booting and running my pc knowing there's something not completely right with it.

It doesn't happen every single time I boot, probably around every other time instead. But I get a screen that tells me "your PC needs to be repaired" and it tells me that either: 1.) my winload.efi file is missing or corrupted OR 2.) "a required device isn't connected or can't be accessed" (it varies, don't know why). It gives me the option to try booting again, go to the recovery environment, the startup settings, or the UEFI firmware settings. The first time it happened I tried to install windows AGAIN using my bootable USB from before, to no avail. It still did the same thing. Turns out I can bypass the error screen by going to the UEFI firmware settings and just pressing Enter to continue without having to actually mess with any settings, and then it will boot fine.

I've tried countless different things and I honestly can't remember all of them. Nothing has worked, it still does this, and I can run my PC fine but it still worries me that maybe some day my PC won't boot for good. Any suggestions or should I be fine to keep bypassing it?

P.S. I've had slight issues with my PC for a while, the whole reason my OS ended up off my SSD in the first place was through some freak accident while I was updating a video driver and my PC wasn't responding and it decided to break on me and I had to use a bootable USB to bring it back from the brink of death (no exaggeration, it would NOT work until I re-installed Windows)

  2. Clean Install Workaround for Vista

You may remember this news story on techPowerUp! a couple of days ago relating to the lack of clean installs when using the Upgrade Editions of Vista, which required an old OS to be installed. However, Paul Thurrott has managed to find a workaround for this issue, which ironically lets users do a clean install Vista without any previous version of Windows, albeit a little tedious. Here are the steps:
    • Boot from the Windows Vista Upgrade DVD as normal
    • When prompted for a product code, leave this blank
    • Select the version of Vista you have purchased and let Vista install
    • When you boot to your desktop for the first time, run the Vista setup from Windows
    • This time enter your product key
    • When asked whether you want to do an Upgrade of Custom install, select custom and choose a clean install
    • Windows will now install for a second time and you should be able to activate it
Remember, these steps are only advised for use in order to achieve a clean install of Vista, it is only legal to use the upgrade editions if you have previously purchased the appropriate version of Windows.

  3. Printer isn´t working after latest update.

After the latest update from Windows, my Canon Pixma ip6600 printer isnt working. In Device Manager it shows up as working properly but when I go to print it isn´t listed as an option in any programs. Troubleshoot suggests it´s a USB 2 printer on a USB
3 port and that that´s the problem but that cant be since it worked fine before the update. I´ve tried to uninstall and plug it back in but that doesn´t work either.
