Windows 10: PC keeps crashing/powering itself on at random

Hello! I've been having an issue recently with my computer shutting down while playing Genshin Impact, I'm not sure if the game is causing it as I haven't used my PC for anything else in the past few months. I have had a couple power surges while my computer was not plugged into a surge protector, so if that can cause the PSU to do strange things like this, let me know. I will post my specs and event viewer logs below to see if anyone can see if this is some strange issue with the PC or the PSU I would replace the PSU anyway since it's fairly low power/cheap to replace, but I don't have the m

Random Crash/Freeze on Build 10130


Hello everyone.

I have been running the Windows 10 preview for the last few months and other than a driver issue here or there, did not experience any real problems. However, with the last update to build 10130, I have been experiencing a random crash/freeze that manifests itself in one of two ways:

1. If I step away from the computer and come back before the monitor is set to go to sleep, I will come back to a frozen cursor, unable to do anything.
2. If I step away from the computer and come back after the monitor has gone to sleep, I will come back to a black screen, unable to do anything.

In both cases, I have to hold the power button in to shut down the computer for a restart.

Any direction or help would be greatly appreciated.

 

PC Keeps Crashing when under heavy load

Ok in that case there are no logs created in your system after the crash so I suggest you follow the below fix to resolve the system crashing issue.

Step 1:

Go to search box next to windows icon and type Edit Power Plan

Step 2:

Then click on Change advanced power settings

Step 3:

Expand Harddisk and then expand Turn off hard disk after

Step 4:

Set value for On battery and Plugged into 0 (Zero)

Step 5:

Click/tap on Apply and then press OK.

Step 6:

Restart the PC

Let me know the status after performing the above and if in case it doesn't solve the issue will provide you with further fixes.

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?
