Windows 10: Pc lagging bad

Please HelpI don’t know much about computers. I tried putting new ram 32GB4X 8GB DDR3L/DDR3 1600MHz in my pc and after that my computer became super laggy and its performance is unstable. I thought the new ram wasn’t working out so I took them out and put back the old ram 16GB 4X 4GB DDR3 1600 MHz but now my pc is still unstable. My FPS fluctuates from 1- 20…I checked to make sure I didn’t knock any cables loose but everything seems to be where it was. I reset my whole computer and switched my operating system windows 10 from my HDD to my SSD and still no fix. -Intel Core i7 4790k-Giga

Random lag spikes

Hi,

We would like to know more about your lag issue:

• What browser are you using when you experience a lag?
• Does the lag occur in a particular game?

In the meantime, we suggest you run the System Maintenance troubleshooter. Here are the steps:

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Click on Control Panel.
• Select Troubleshooting.
• On the left pane, click on View All.
• Click on System Maintenance to run the troubleshooter.

Slow and Lagging PC

Hi Dhanam,

Thanks for the fast reply. I did all these steps and then did a clean boot. All the startup applications were disabled, but the computer still had a bit of a lag to it. It's not terrible, but it's noticeable. When I reinstalled Windows 10 I wiped out everything, yet there was still lag. It seems everything has a slight lag to it, even BIOS. Could this have something to do with my CPU being bad? Could it be a powerful virus or rootkit?

PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval

• Install system in case
  • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
• Turn on PC
• setup HDD
• run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
  • run realtemp at the same time

• While in Prime95 test
  • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
  • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
  • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!

What do you guys think??
