PC Lagging very much usually when i make high network traffic

Hello. I have a problem that started somehow 1 month ago, or at least then is when i first saw it. My laptop seems to stutter and lag during any kind of network traffic to my laptop. At first I thought it was just happening when I was watching Youtube vids or downloading torrents but sitting there with nothing running and a simple message through skype will trigger it too. First i thought is a Laptop fault, but yesterday i digged bigger, and i noticed first it was when i used torrent. Tried to install other versions and nothing happened. Then i realized it was when i have any download traffic. Started youtube in 240p and when i make a bandwidth test everything get slow. I get frames in 240p on a Thinkpad t440p with i5 4300M, 8GB of 1600 RAM and 180 intel 530 SSD.

I really don't know what to do. I installed LatencyMon and i get this:

PC Lagging very much usually when i make high network traffic [IMG]

PS: Please, don't come with Update the Audio Drivers, or the mouse driver, or things like that. I did all these things, i even installed a fresh copy of Windows . Nothing worked. It is something that has to do with the Wireless driver, as this thing only occurs when high traffic happenes, when i download or things like that. Thanks

    :)

PC lagging and stuttering during network traffic (Win 10)

After a big windows 10 update, the OS started to stutter on ONLY internet (browser) traffic through web browsers. I also regularly access a personal nas which does not cause stuttering. (unless in combination with web (browser) traffic.

    Interesting notes:

All of these complaints like this keep mentioning 'network' traffic but always revolves around web browsing. There is a distinction.

If i uninstall the Ethernet (an intel adapter) reboot and it re installs, it is fine but over the course of hours the stuttering will gradually build back up until I am back to the OS nearly unusable. (effect visible using latencymon)

Other interesting note: MS edge causes the MOST stuttering.

Does not matter what network adapter I switch to, it will eventually build back up and stutter. EVERYTHING stutters, mouse audio and video.

This only started after a large update from microsoft. Fresh virgin installs have same issue now.

Only my windows 10 installs suffer from this after that update. (dont remember which it was)

One thing to consider is this:
    BIOS Update Utility for Windows 10 (64-bit), 8.1 (64-bit), 8 (64-bit), 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) - ThinkPad T440p - Lenovo Support (US)

It may be totally irrelevant - these issues need your personal investigation.

If you would care to search the forum for
    latency
    stuttering
    pops
    crackles
for example - you will find more examples of people using LatencyMon and trying to resolve this.

I guess, given the BIOS update, your machine is Win 10 compatible
Updating drivers yourself in Win10, for the major drivers provided by Win 10, won't help as Uncle MS will replace versions different to those he thinks are good for you unless you take special action.

Unfortunetely i can't update bios as the laptop has an superviser password that i don't know. About the drivers i can say that are still the drivers that i installed from lenovo website and i double checked, windows did not replaced them with others

Inspect the LatencyMon report - click on the Drivers and Statistics tabs looking for clues.
Check for reports of your laptop model with similar problems.
    See:
Resplendence Software - LatencyMon: real-time audio suitability checker

Search this forum for examples of others investigating this as suggested above.
These show there is no one fix, unfortunately.

Some people find reverting to an older version driver may help.
There are plenty of hints about WLAN NIC drivers.
    Sorry I can't be precise..

I've had similar issues myself at one time, ndis.sys is network related driver so it's either your network driver itself or other network managment/monitoring service. For me it was BitDefender's port scanning protection feature, once I've disabled that problems were gone. Try booting in safe mode this should eliminate a bunch of possible causes or narrow it down to a few as for example your antivirus won't load by default.

Try this then, open BitDefender, go to Modules (in the bottom) > Firewall and there disable Block port scans in the network and restart LatencyMon to see if it worked, changes should be immediate.

Thank you sir. Most of them i tried. I have the latest intel driver for my wireless adaptor, the beacon is set to 100 on the router, i allways use my laptop in high performace. minimum processor state is 100%, the bios update is not an option for me as i don't have the supervisor password, i just installed the latest Intel Rapid Storage driver, and i can say it's a change, after i disabled the scan port on bitdefender too, but still i get bad numbers :

I think the best choice will be to just move back to windows 7. Never had problems with it, only the Widi didn't work everytime

You can try disabling drivers based on that report to see which might have an effect, if any, but that performance is unacceptable.
If you create a disk image of what you have now- or your '7 build- you can always try again sometime, perhaps with a clean install.

But does '10 offer any advantages?

I had my reasons in preparing to move to x64 and a new laptop, using Laplink to transfer programs.

To be honest, in my point of biew it does not offer any advantages. And i had a good opinion about it, i loved it for some time and i told everyone to install them because it rocks but i changed my mind, as after 2 month wasnt as good as in the day in installed, and now this. The win 7 x64 pro on my old laptop run smooth and stable for allmost 2 years without needing a clean install

To me the only advantages are:
    - the in-place upgrade repair install (very useful)
    - a couple of universal apps- nice GUI
    - future compatibility (although I believe I could run '7 on this new laptop)

It needed GUI changes to make it tolerable, and a replacement start menu.
