Windows 10: PC loads to desktop with black screen and taskbar

Hello,Earlier in the week I had taken steps to improve the performance of Mortal Kombat 1 on my pc. I went about this by installing Process Lasso on my pc and changing the number of maximum cores active from 1 to 12. The pc had run fine over the next day or so, but when I returned from work today, I booted the PC to it running strangely, with issues like tabs not loading, a shaking sleep button under the power options, and having a hard time moving open windows. I restarted the pc and saw an improvement in performance. I figured the issue was caused by changing the cores in msconfig, so I res

• When the screen was blank, were you able to see the cursor on the screen?
  
• Did you get any error code or error message?
