Windows 10, Cannot set Logout Timer

    Hi Waltz,

For us to better assist you with your log out timer issue, we'd like to know the following:

    • Which build and version of Windows are your running on your computer?
To check, press Windows key + R > type winver
    > hit Enter.

    • "Cannot set Logout Timer" - Do you want to set your computer to auto-shutdown or auto-lock?
    • What steps have your tried to set the logout timer?

We're looking forward to your reply.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Windows 10 Hardware change

IF you already have one, then that might be useful, but I would really recommend you simply plug your current OS drive into the new system and see what happens first. Then, if it stays activated after a couple of days (as mine did), then create a new installation disc using the media creation tool as suggested by other members here.

The only thing you might need to do before moving to the new system is uninstalling any board-specific software that you might have installed from the board's product page or driver disc. Also, any CFOS or Killer Network software should be removed before moving the drive to the new system.
