Windows 10: Pc not booting after a half completed factory reset

I decided to factory reset my pc after a few days of slow running and half working hard drives to see if it would help with anything.The factory reset went fully through to the restart part, but it never restarted and was just stuck in a black screen for an hour. I tried manually restarting to see if it would help but i believe that was a bad idea.During the few days I had really slow boot and my hard drives had maximum 50-60gb on them even tho they are full 500gb hard drives, I tried updating windows and formating them before to see if it would solve it and it didn't. Hopefully I can help you here....its a very common thing to happen.


First, I take it you dont know the passwords for console access or telnet/ssh?

I will assume that these devices belong to you.

step 1. Plug a cisco console cable into a serial port on your pc
step 2. Plug other end into Cisco console port
step 3. Using hyperterm or putty or similar connect to the serial port
step 4. boot router, and make sure you clearly can see the output (this confirms you have good serial comms)
step 5. if this fails, adjust the comm port settings (9600, 8,1,n are the default)
step 6. now you have to do the only hard part...send the break command:

Go down the list and match your OS and SW and try the sequence suggested.

If this fails several times do what I do: Install putty (free) and then to send a break so you can get into rommom just hit "ctrl-a b".

Diskpart : there are no fixed disks to show.. Factory reset gone awful

Hi everyone, I was asked to factory reset an Asus laptop and install a win 7 on it, while starting to install the win 7 I got stuck with the "no device drivers were found", searched for some tutorial on YouTube, found this vid: , followed the command codes step by step on MS-DOS : ( Diskpart >>> list disk >>> select disk 0 >>>> Clean >>>> create partition primary >>>> format fs=ntfs quick) and now I completely lost the disk 0 with all system files, no hard drive showing as a boot option in the BIOS. Am I screwed ? Is there a way to create or reactivate the internal HDD ?? Thank you in advance for your help
