Windows 10: PC not connecting to internet while Windows Hotspot is active.

Hello, after the recent windows update, I can't seem to connect to the internet on my PC while Windows hotspot is active. For example, I can't connect to the Steam store and get "error code 101, unable to connect to server" while I am also running the hotspot. Only Chrome seems to be able to connect properly. Opening Microsoft edge just displays "establishing secure connection" on the bottom left. Turning off the Hotspot and everything works fine. Any ideas why this is happening? Did something change my connection settings? I tried a network reset but, that did not work.

I have done steps 1 and 2 (see below) and were carried out successfully. However, cannot carryout steps 3, 4 and 5. cant't seem to find them as indicted in windows 10.

• Step 1: Go To Window icon and Search for “Command Prompt” and run it as administrator.
• Step 2: Now, to create a Hosted Network and start it, just enter the following two command into Command Prompt and Press Enter:
• 1. netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=Mashnol key=Mashnol123
• 2. netsh wlan start hostednetwork
• : Now one Hosted Network ( ssid=”Mashnol”) is created.
• Step 3 For this, Right Click on “WiFi” tray icon on taskbar –> Go To “Open Network and Sharing Centre”. Here you can see “LAN” with your SSID.
• Step 4: Right Click on the Ethernet/Wireless Internet connection to which you want to make as a WiFi hotspot –> “Properties” –> Under “Sharing” Tab–> Tick Checkbox “Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s internet connection”
  –> Now select “LAN” of your SSID from Drop Down Menu in “Home Networking Connection”.
• Step 5: Setting part is done. Now you can connect your Mobile or other PC systems with this WiFi hotspot and enjoy Internet connection.

Let us follow these steps one by one to check if that makes any difference.

Step 1: You may run the Network Adapter troubleshooter to check if that helps.

• Type Troubleshoot in the Search bar of your PC and open the Troubleshoot settings.
  
• Scroll down the right pane and select ‘Network Adapter’ and click on ‘Run Troubleshooter’.
  
• The PC will then start checking for the possible errors and will possibly detect the issue.
  

Once this is done, restart the PC and check the wifi hotspot connectivity.

Step 2: If the issue persists, then you may want to
update the Network driver and check the status.

Step 3: You may also want to change the adapter settings.

• Open Mobile Hotspot settings on your PC.
  
• Press ‘Windows key + I’ to open Settings and go to ‘Network and Internet’.
  
• Scroll down the left pane and select ‘Mobile Hotspot’.
  
• Go to ‘Related Settings’ from the right pane and click on ‘Change adapter options’.
  
• Identify your mobile hotspot adapter, right click and go to ‘Properties’.
  
• Open Sharing tab and Uncheck “Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection”.
