PC not detecting SSD even though it's not dead

Hello, last night while I was asleep my SSD seemed to stop being recognized. When I woke up I saw a screen saying: "No bootable devices found.Press F1 key to retry boot.Press F2 key for setup utility.Press F5 key to run onboard diagnostics" I have tried all the above options multiple times.- When I press F1 it shows to Dell logo for a few seconds and goes back to that screen- When I press F2 It shows many options and it shows that my drive isn't connected to any SATA ports and isn't found under the "Devices" tab. I've tried 3 different troubleshooting tutorials and none of them have worked.- W

    Is my SSD dead?

It happened about a month ago so I'm can't remember the exact details of how it died. I think I restarted the PC and the message was there I had no OS. Today I popped in my mirrored HD and was up running. I hocked up the SSD and restarted the PC but no sign of the SSD. Power is on (Zalman “hot swap” case has a power LED for each disk). I tried to find it in DOS but the drive is no where to be found. Any suggestions for a next step? It 1½ month past RMA but the important thing is to retrieve some of the files.

    SSD Not Detected in BIOS

Hi all! My PC keeps loading into the BIOS (ASRock) menu and I noticed that my SSD (WD Green 1TB) isn’t being detected to boot from. I checked the connections and even connected a second SSD, which was detected and booted. At this point, I had both SSD hooked up.

When I went to Device Manager and Disk Management, my old SSD was there as an unknown device.

I connected it to another PC and it was detected, but unable to boot into. In the Disk Management and Device Manager, it wasn’t an unknown device, but had its actual name this time.

Is it dead and is there a way to get some files off of it? How would I know if it just reached it’s full write cycles and locked itself? I’m a little tech savvy, but not much. I just don’t want to lose the files on there.

    PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval
    • Install system in case
      • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
    • Turn on PC
    • setup HDD
    • run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
      • run realtemp at the same time
    • While in Prime95 test
      • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
      • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
      • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!
    What do you guys think??
