  1. Pc only working properly in safe mode

Don’t know what’s happened, but I installed trials of adobe apps and iobit uninstaller, since about this time, I am unable to....
-open task manager with Carl alt del
    -gpedit won’t open
-several small programs won’t open unless I select run as admin

but in safe mode everything works, so what does that point to ? Need to sort this

also tried uninstalling iohit uninstaller with revo, but although said ok, I can’t reinstall iobit uninstaller, displays an error

also after start up I get a message window about something missing....language.lng ( I think this is correct) in a appfata local temp folder

    any help please ?

    thanks

    :)

Strange PC Problem/Will Only Boot in Safe Mode.

Type in "Search the web and Windows" on your taskbar "msconfig" and it should open system configuration. Go under boot and make sure you uncheck safe mode if it is checked.

Strange PC Problem/Will Only Boot in Safe Mode.

Hi Debbie, I tried this but I just can't seem to get it to work, it says "The online/remove-package/packagename option is unknown." Then, I tried "DISM.exe /Online /?", and apparently "DISM does not support servicing Windows PE with the /Online option."
Thanks anyway for the answer, I will keep trying!

See if you have a restore point and attempt system restore.

    1) Click on the left lower corner Window icon > click power > hold down the keyboard shift key > click restart > on the windows advance troubleshooting menu navigate to restore > look for the oldest day and work forward to find a working restore point.

    1) Check to see whether you can or cannot use clean boot:
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...oot-in-windows
How to perform a Clean Boot in Windows 10 - TechNet Articles - United States (English) - TechNet Wiki
    2) open administrative command prompt or safe mode with command prompt (some may not work in safe mode) and type or copy and paste:
    3) sfc /scannow
    4) dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
    5) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    6) chkdsk /scan
    7) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread
    8) perform an in place upgrade repair:
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade Installation Upgrade Tutorials

If the above don't fix the problem then these are additional options:
    8) In the windows advanced troubleshooting menu attempt startup repair.
    9) If none of the above work you can perform a registry repair
    10) if the computer fails to boot you can use the kyhi rescue boot

    11) Test the drive whenever you can with:
    HD Tune: HD Tune website
    a) Health
    b) benchmark
    c) Full error scan
    12) post images of the 3 HD tune scans into the thread:
Take Screenshot in Windows 10 General Tips Tutorials
    13) open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste: chkdsk /x /f /r
This may take many hours so plan to run overnight
    14) use the information in this link to find the chkdsk report in the event viewer and post the results into the thread:
Read Chkdsk Log in Event Viewer in Windows 10 Performance Maintenance Tutorials

The In place upgrade repair can be done without loss of applications or files.
It may not be deep enough of a repair for iobit as iobit may have damaged the registry.

In order to perform the in place upgrade repair perform the following steps:
    1) create a bootable windows 10 iso:
    Download Windows 10
    2) open file explorer
    3) insert the windows 10 iso into any USB port
    4) identify the iso drive in file explorer
    5) click on the iso drive and launch steup or setup.exe
    6) follow the text and images in this link:
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade Installation Upgrade Tutorials

Some commands do not work on a normally functioning computer while in safe mode.
So see if you can use clean boot.

This is a log collector that is used in another forum. Run it when you can and post a zip into the thread for troubleshooting:
BSOD - Posting Instructions - Windows 10 Forums
It will collect: msinfo32, dxdiag, mini dumps, drivers, hosts, install, uninstall, services, event viewer files, etc.
Zip the folder and post into the thread.

The start up repair should be able to be perform without loss of applications or files.
The reset with save files will lose applications and save files.

In clean boot you will be able to run the dism commands.
Run the dism commands whenever possible followed by running the sfc /scannow command.
If that does not fix the operating system then perform an in place upgrade repair.

To perform clean boot you can use administrative command prompt:
    type or copy and paste:

    1) msconfig (in the pop up system configuration > move the dot from normal startup to selective startup > uncheck load startup items > click service tab > in left lower corner check hide all Microsoft services > in the lower right side click disable all > click apply or ok > do not reboot)

    2) taskmgr (in the pop up task manager > click on the start up tab > click on status so that the column sorts with enable rising to the top > right click on each row with enable and change to disable)

  12. I would suggest not having anything by IObit on any computer system.
IObit products have been known to cause all kinds of problems for many members here and on the Seven Forum.

Thanks jack, I have used iobit for years, without problem, but not any more...the clean boot did not help,
ran th dism commands successfully but the scannow stuck at 91% and I had to cancel it , forgot to get the text history.....tried to install from a bootable usb pen created from winmedia, yesterday....used the setup.ex to run, eventually it reported it couldn’t validate my license key OMG, is this really happening ? So now I am doing an online upgrade and chose to keep apps data etc etc......will see what happens...
