Windows 10: PC optimisation and Smooth Performance

Hello Microsoft, I am Prasanna,I have a Low End Laptop. It is a Windows 10. The Specifications are rocessor : IntelR CoreTM i3-6006U CPU @ 2.00Installed Memory RAM: 4:00 GB 3.89 usableSystem type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor I need guide and instructions to optimise my laptop for gaming at least to gain about 30-40 or 40-50 FPS and Better & Smooth performance.Since my PC lags I need guide for it to decrease the ram usage so it can run smooth. Hope to get some Help.

How to disable smooth scrolling for metro apps in Windows 10?

Hi,

I suggest you to follow the below steps to disable the smooth scrolling and check if it helps.

• Navigate to System Properties by right clicking
  Properties from my computer.
• Click on Advanced and click on
  Performance settings.
• In Visual Effects tab of Performance Options window, click
  Custom. Then deselect the following items to Disable some unnecessary eye candy:
• Uncheck Smooth-scroll list boxes.

What is smooth scrolling?

Hi Kenneth,

Smooth scrolling is a feature available in Internet Explorer that allows you to scroll through a web pages smoothly, as the name of the feature suggests. If this is turned off, when scrolling through a web page, you'll notice that the scroll
bar slides down as if it's slightly delayed, but if this is turned on, the scroll bar slides down smoothly, without delay.

This is useful when scanning through long web pages or articles.

To turn on/off smooth scrolling, see the following steps:

• Open Internet Explorer, click the gear icon, and then click
  Internet Options.
  
• Click on the Advanced tab.
• Locate Use smooth scrolling, and tick the check box if you want it turned on/off.

my defragment and optimise drives has disappeared from my PC..!

• Perform a system restore. Follow the steps to do so -
  1. Press Start, and type system restore.
  2. From the list of options select Create a Restore Point.
  3. Once the window pops up, under System Protection tab, click on System Restore button.
  4. In new window, click Next.
  5. Select a restore point, till which system was performing well. Click
     Next.
  6. Click Finish.
• If the problem still exists, Perform a System Refresh/Reset. Follow the steps to do so -
  1. Press Start, and type reset.
  2. From the list of options select Reset This PC.
  3. Under Reset This PC, click on Get Started.
  4. Follow the on-screen instruction for the choices and perform the reset.

Note: Remember to backup your data and other files for the drives that will be affected by the system reset.
