    PC Permanently in Update and Restart with nothing to install


    Recently my PC has become stuck in Update and Restart/ shut down, when I go to power off, although there is nothing pending installation.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Windows OS inf.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Either choice makes no difference nor does the notification go awayI have to press the computer power switch to bypass this nuisance.Clues to cause and solution would be very much appreciated.     Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

    How to remove old installed driver permanently?

    Hi,

    I would suggest you follow the below steps to permanently remove the Bluetooth drivers.

    Step 1:

    Go to search box next to windows icon and type device manager

    Step 2:

    Under Device manager expand Bluetooth

    Step 3:

    Right-click on the Bluetooth device for which you want to uninstall the drivers permanently

    Step 4:

    Then click on Properties and select the Drivers tab

    Step 5:

    Under drivers tab Click on Uninstall Device

    Step 6:

    Uninstall Device prompt Tick the box next to Delete the driver software for this device

    Step 7:

    Click Uninstall & then restart the PC

    Step 8:

    Restart the PC again and then plug the new Bluetooth device

    The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

    Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.
