PC Power Issues: PC Runs Great most Days, Won't Turn sometime on others

Hello all! I've recently been encountering a problem with my PC not powering on after days of completely normal functionality. I've tried different power outlets and different power cables, but to no avail. What's weird is, after a few days of leaving the PC unplugged, the PC will power back up and repeat the process. Run great for days then require a break for a couple days. During the PC's downtime, if I try to power it on I get no power at all, zero. No movement of fans, no beeps. When I get the PC running on it's good days, I check the event log on only to find an error code titled "TPM

    Pc wont turn on

I'm sorry to hear that your PC isn't turning on. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check the power source: Make sure your PC is plugged into a working power outlet and that the power cable is securely connected to both the PC and the outlet.
    2. Test the power cable: If possible, try using a different power cable to see if the issue is with the cable itself. Alternatively, you can try using the current power cable with a different device to ensure it's functioning properly.
    3. Check the power supply: If your PC has a separate power supply unit (PSU), make sure it's switched on (if applicable) and that all connections from the PSU to the motherboard are secure.
    4. Reset the power supply: Sometimes the power supply can get stuck in a "protective" state, preventing the PC from turning on. To reset it, turn off the PC, unplug the power cable, and hold down the power button for about 15 seconds. Then plug the power cable back in and try turning on the PC.
    5. Check for hardware issues: If the above steps didn't resolve the issue, it's possible that a hardware component is causing the problem. In this case, you may need to consult a professional technician or contact the manufacturer for further assistance.
Remember to prioritize your safety while troubleshooting. If you're unsure or uncomfortable with any of the steps, it's best to seek professional help.

    power issue

    Hello,

Most of the time, this issue is caused by external devices that are possibly keeping the PC active which then results in the screen/display not turning off even after you've set the power settings. Try disconnecting any external devices, usually gaming devices,
and check if the issue persists.

We also suggest running the Power troubleshooter to automatically troubleshoot any power issue. Just follow the steps below:

    • Click on Search/Cortana, and then type Troubleshooting.
    • Click on Troubleshooting.
    • Click on System and Security.
    • Click on Power.

Let us know if that worked out for you.
