Windows 10: PC randomly shuts down.

It only randomly shuts down as soon as its finished post. Not while using windows

 

Do you use a surge protector ? Can you try plugging the PC directly into an outlet or move to another room and use that outlet, surge protector can be a cause. Other failing hardware can be a cause,RAM, CPU, Video card and Motherboard. Recently reapplied thermal paste is this when issue happened afterwards ?

 

The issue only started happening when I upgraded to Windows 10.

I do use a surge protector. I will try plugging directly in to wall outlet tomorrow.

I dont get any bios beeps either.

 

Have you tried resetting BIOS to default/optimized settings?

Also, did you upgrade your video drivers yourself or did you let Windows decide?

 

How long has it been since you upgraded to Windows 10 ? Rare case surge protector is bad.

 

Its been a month now. Ive tried plugging directly in to wall socket but problem is still there.

Ive ordered a new psu to see if that will fix it.

Ive ordered the corsair rm650x psu.

Would not of suggested to order something right away, but that was up to you. Did your own work on this PC that is good that you can, reapply of thermal paste was done while you had the issue, correct ?

 

A clean install of windows fixed the problem. Thanks guys for your help.

 

Well glad you feel it is fixed, but this is hard to say an issue like this will be fixed with a clean install since you did one not long before this issue happened, shown from your first post. Unless it has to do with some driver for hardware which i never came across to make a PC shutdown randomly (possibly only Graphics card) . Time will tell. I would make sure you get all proper updated system drivers and hardware drivers.
