Windows 10: PC Reboots under Heavy Load Sometimes

Back in February my PC was having some issues booting Windows via my HDD, which I figured was alright as the drive was already many years old. I decided to get an SDD M.2 as the replacement. The PC boots fine now, and much faster than it had previously. However, there's another issue that has arisen ever since I switched to the SSD: crashes.Under a heavy load, such as using Adobe Premiere Pro or playing heavy games such as War Thunder or GTAV, the PC will turn itself off to a black screen and restart entirely. This hadn't happened prior to getting the SSD, and I've already ruled out the CPU or

As to the next step in solving your issue, I would suggest you follow the below steps.

Step 1:

Go to search box next to Windows icon and type Edit Power plan

Step 2:

Then click on Change advanced power settings

Step 3:

Expand Processor Power Management & then set 100% for both On Battery and Plugged in.

Step 4:

Then expand Switchable Dynamic Graphics & then expand Global Settings

Step 5:

Select Maximize Performance for both On battery and Plugged in.

Step 6:

Click/tap on Apply and then press OK.

Step 7:

Restart the PC

Let me know the status after performing the above.

PC reboots (no BSOD) on CPU stress

Hi fellow TPU members,

not too long ago, the box my gf's PC was transported in gave way on the stairs. Yes, you got it right, that sent a PC tumbling down a flight of steps alright.

Stuff broke. Also, stuff remained intact somehow.

I bought her a new case, new CPU cooler and we removed the floppy drive, so far so good. But the PC started crashing for no apparent reason, without a BSOD.

I tested:

• Memtest86+, left overnight, 0 errors
• Scanned the HDD for errors, nothing there
• Left FurMark burning up the GFX card and drawing some power, no problems there
• Ran Ubuntu from a Live CD doing nothing special, didn't crash
• Ran OCCT, Linpack, Prime95, all 3 caused reboots within minutes
• Oh, and I disabled "Restart on error" so I'm sure it's not a BSOD.

Now, I can still try and test something CPU intensive on Ubuntu, but my guess is the CPU didn't survive.
Before I do anything drastic like whippin' out the magic wallet and get her a new AMD quad, is there anything I didn't see?
I'm guessing the motherboard could be borkered as well, but can I check that other than replacing the CPU with a working one?
Any suggestions on which proggies I can use from an Ubuntu Live CD to stress the CPU?
