Windows 10: PC running severely slow but sporadically

So I've run into a bit of an issue that I have not been able to solve.


Issues:


PC is running very slow 90% of the time, but about 10% it seems to work fine.

Icons on taskbar disappear and reappear randomly when it isn't working.

Everything loads absurdly slow, like 10 seconds to open a folder and delayed recognition of mouse hovering over a folder, even the mouse itself moves slow.


I believe this started after a CHKDSK. I have installed windows on a brand new hard drive, replaced the ram, and tried reformatting a handful of times (both reset and install new copy of windows as well as from a USB flash boot). Also tried setting the graphics to both NVIDIA as well as the system integrated graphics. Only other thing that makes sense to me (with my limited knowledge) is some motherboard or CPU issue, but replacing that on a laptop is above my ability. I just tried a reformat last night but again no luck.

I know this is a headache, but would appreciate any help at all, would really rather not chuck a $700 laptop.

System slow down

pc running slow

since the last windows 10 up date my pc is running slow and all games music etc has disappeared. my pc is also telling me it is logging me in with a temp pass word. any suggestions please
