  1. PC screen freezes since nVidia Driver Update

I upgraded from Win 7 Home x64 about 2 weeks ago, everything was dandy. Then nVidia send a new graphics driver which I tried to install, but the screen just went black, I left it for 30 mins but then I had to power off. I restarted and the BIOs proceeded normally then the windows load screen but adter that just a mouse pointer with 2 intermittently flashing little blue circles. I left that for a while but it was going nowhere. So I swithed away from my 780Ti and booted using the integrated graphics, I tried rolling back the nVidia driver but the whole PC became unresponsive.
After restarting it seems some driver reinstalled because the 780Ti is working again, but shortly after boot to desktop when the PC is lef idle, the screen freezes and its impossible to get any response from the PC.
I dont want to install nVidia drivers again in case it makes the situation worse, any troubleshooting help?

    :)

Constant issues with windows update .. suspected to be graphics driver problem.

So I did as you said and installed latest compatible driver from nvidia website, and half way through the installation the screen/cursor freezes, so it is still definitely a graphics driver issue as this had not happened since latest install while blocked
updates. What I will do is force shut down go into safemode uninstall nvidia drivers if possible, then I don't know what to do maybe will try again in Windows 8 compatibility mode

  3. Freezing Windows

I tried this and updated my Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 driver with Windows 10 upgrade and it still freezes.

My PC freezes right after start up or when I open multiple windows; especially Google Chrome with Word.

Try to manually uninstall all nVidia drivers and then install previous version of it.If you would not mind, uncheck nvidia experience via custom installation menu.
also try to install MSI Afterburner and if you have factory overclock, underclock your card clock to the same speed as the original nvidia card has.

I wonder what drivers are installed now?

I don't use Geforce Experience with my nVidia card, and I have Windows 10 set up to not upgrade drivers through Windows Update. (It's hard to find: go to the System control panel, Advanced systems settings at the upper left of the window.)

I've had good luck with the 353.62 drivers. Last I knew, they were the ones provided by Windows update. 355.60 were released yesterday, and they have been OK during the brief time I've used them.

Your problems remind me of ones I had with preview build 10130. It tended to hard lock if the PC was idle for a few minutes. It was so bad that the Reset button didn't work. Build 10166 was better, and the release build (10240) has been about as reliable as Windows 8.1 was for me. (Even that wasn't perfect.)

I've gone to a clean Win 10 install to minimize the chance of instability. It's true what they say: after having an activated Win 10 upgrade, a clean install will activate online on the same hardware.

  6. I dont know what driver I had ended up on but I knew something was on the card as it showed active in Device Manager. In any case, nVidia downloaded its driver again this morning and I thought I would chance it, so I went the clean install route. As it happens it uninstalled the driver I was on but didnt re-install the nVidia one. So I wen back to Device Manager and has Windows search for a driver from there and Im now on 10.18.13.5362 dated 23/07/2015, this seems stable at the moment.

When I get time I will do a clean install of Win 10, I have always found with Windows you need to do that about once a year to keep everything in good working order.

You could also try a beta driver to see if that fixes the issue.

  8. PC screen freezes since nVidia Driver Update

The problems continue, I thought it was Ok but after leaving the PC unattended for an hour I came back and the screen looked fuzzy, it was responding but its like the scaling was way off, if I opened an app it didnt show on screen and the system tray was off screen to the right.
Something is seriously broken in Win10.
