Windows 10: PC Sea of Thieves download not displaying download throughput Xbox PC app

Disclaimer: my internet speeds are always slow.I am looking to download Sea of Thieves for Game Pass through the Xbox launcher app. When I click to download, it either a asks to restart the download, then asking to install, then asking to restart the download, etc. or b starts the download at 0mb/s and then disappears after a few moments. However, for case b, the game is still downloading when I restart the app and option b works. It shows the 0mb/s WITH the total data downloaded, if that makes sense. Would love some input to be able to see the download speeds. With thanks!

Xbox App for PC Sea of Thieves Download Only Downloading 1.13KB

So recently I have tried to download and play Sea of Thieves through the xbox app for pc and xbox play anywhere. When I try downloading the game it downloads normally for a second then instantly finishes, and when I try to launch the game it only shows
the start screen with no sign of loading then immediately closes itself. When I check its properties after making a desktop shortcut it says that the game is only 1.13KB when in actuality the game is 50GB.

Sorry for the delayed response. We identified this issue regards downloading Sea of Thieves from Windows Store App and we still working on it to fix the problem. As a workaround, we suggest following the steps below:

• Cancel all existing download on the Store app.
• Start the download of Sea of Thieves once again.
• As soon as the download starts, immediately restart the computer.
  
• After the reboot, do not launch the Store app instead wait for the passive download which you can check in the Action Center. Then it will automatically install by itself and then open the game without any issues.

This workaround worked for me first time of trying it. I had the same issue as the OP.
