Windows 10: PC seems to keep attempting to find or change primary display

Hello,Currently on Windows 11 23h2 I believe. I have two monitors and my TV connected to the GPU. Normally, I just have my main monitor and secondary monitor on for normal gaming. However, sometimes I use my TV for other games. I have it setup so when I open Steam in Big Picture Mode, it opens up on the TV. That way I can play games on there. So when Steam Big Picture opens on the TV, it temporarily changes the primary monitor to the TV. Then when I close it, it changes back.Seemed like it worked for a long time. However, nowadays, whether the TV is turned on or off, my PC seems like it it a

Windows 10 Login Screen not respecting primary display. Identity Issues?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

  Press Windows +X.
  
• 
  Select Control panel.
  
• 
  Click on Display.
  
• 
  Select Change display settings at top left corner.
  
• 
  Click on Identify then you will be able to check the primary display.

Display resolution keeps changing

Hi Rick,

It might be caused by a faulty driver that's why your display resolution keeps changing. We
suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the display driver, see steps below:

• Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device Manager.
• For graphics cards, expand the Display adapters category, right click your graphics card and select Uninstall.
• Restart your PC and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

Change primary alias

As per description, when you click to change the primary on nothing happens.

Have you tried to perform the troubleshooting steps provided under section
Change which alias is primary ?

If you have not performed the troubleshooting steps I would suggest you perform steps under
Change which alias is primary , from my previous post. Which are as follow.

  If you already have the latest version of Internet Explorer, get more info on how to
  
  reset your browser.
  
• 
  If you're still getting the error, check to see if you have the
  latest version of Silverlight.
  

Note: The Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature might reset security settings or privacy settings that you added to the list of Trusted Sites. The Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature might also reset
parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature.
