PC seen by only one other machine on network workgroup

I have four computers on my network under Network in File Explorer.

    Laptop1 can see Desktop2, Laptop1, Laptop2.

    Desktop2 can see Desktop2, Laptop1, Laptop2.

    Desktop1 can see Desktop2, Laptop1, Laptop2.

    Laptop2 can see Desktop2, Laptop1, Laptop2, and Desktop1.

All four machines show Desktop1 Media Library. All four machines can ping the IP address of Desktop 1.

As you can see, all the machines can see each other except that Desktop1 appears on only one of the machines. They are all in the same workgroup and on the same WiFi. The networks are set up as private. [EDIT: I should have also mentioned that network discovery and file and printer sharing are turned on for Desktop1].

All of the machines run the free version of Avast except Desktop1 which runs Windows Defender. But I turned Windows Defender off briefly on Desktop1 and that did not resolve the issue, so I don't think the problem lies there.

The only difference I can see is that Laptop2 is Ver 1909 and the other 4 are version 2004.

If anyone can help, I would be appreciative.

    :)

Workgroup Windows 10 and XP machines no longer see each other

My 4 machine workgroup network, 2 XP and 2 Win 10 machines, was functioning fairly well until the recent "Creator" upgrade. Now the XP machines can no longer see the 10 machines and the 10 machines can't see the XP machines. The machines of the other OS are not listed. Would like to get the workgroup functional again. Have done multiple reboots and have run the suggested troubleshooters with no results. Have any ideas?

  3. Want windows 10 machine to rejoin a workgroup and see files on XP machines

This was working but with the last Windows update my Windows 10 machine no longer sees the Workgroup it belongs to. I can find no instructions anywhere on how to get it to see the other Workgroup machines again and to be seen by them. What happened? How
    do I fix it?

The Workgroup name is intact and has not changed on the Windows 10 machine but it can't find the network or the workgroup. Network Discovery is turned on. This had been working just fine for over a year such that I could share files and printers.
