Windows 10: PC shows not connected to wifi, but it is and it works on browsers

Issue is, it won't update without being connected, and since it shows it's not connected, it just won't. I can't download anything from windows store, but I can go on browsers and browse as usual. My issue right now is that my pc is charging slowly, and it keeps overheating, and I suspect it's because it hasn't updated in over a month due to the connection issues. ---- either that or I need a new battery lol

Anyways one issue at a time, for the connection issues, I've tried troubleshooting - same thing shows up every time, reset network, so it does and within 5 minutes it restarts the computer, and the issue continue being there.

I've tried doing it without the troubleshooting, gone in and deleted network adapters, restarted, nothing happened. Tried resetting the last update, it won't allow me to do that lmao. Tried a factory reset, still nothing. Pretty much running out of ideas, please help

Thank you for reaching out to us. We suggest you to try to disable auto turn-off of WiFi device by following the steps below:

• Go to Network and Sharing Center.
• At the right pane, click Change adapter settings.
• Right click on your connection name (WiFi name) and Properties.
• Click the Configure... button.
• Go to Power Management tab.
• Uncheck/disable the radio button for "Allow this device to turn off this device to save power".
• 
  Restart the PC (Important)

Wifi Connectivity and Browser Usage

I followed the troubleshooting steps above. They did not resolve the wifi connectivity or browser usage settings.

My laptop still will not stay connected to wifi, and browsers are still freezing or timing out when trying to load webpages.

 

Dongle is working properly but showing no internet

Just to clarify, are you using a WiFi dongle to connect to the internet instead of the built in WiFi adapter of your device? Or are you using a desktop PC and is the WiFi dongle to connect to the internet? For now, what we can suggest is to follow all of
the recommended troubleshooting steps on this article to resolve the issue. Be sure to click
Show all to see all of the instructions. Please follow all of the recommended so we could troubleshoot further.
