    Hi my PC ramdomly shutdown while I'm playing at Valhalla

    Windows 10 20H2 19042.746

    Ryzen 7 3800x stock

    Gskill TridentZ DDR4-3600 F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC

    Crosshair VI Hero bios 7901

    RTX 3090 FE : driver 461.09

    Seasonic Prime Titanium 850W

    Crucial MX300 500gb

    Samsung 860 EVO 1tb

    Samsung 960 EVO 500gb

    Seagate HDD 4tb & 2tb

    My pc takes for ever to shut down when i restart

    Suggest cleaning up your startup list .There may be many services / Apps you can remove on startup which is not needed on boot or during shutdown.
    Before you shutdown the Pc check what is running in Task Manager as a program or service in not killing the process on shutdown

    Would suggest cleaning up running apps and services -Autoruns, StartupMonitor,HighjackThis,
    Malware Scan - Malwarebytes,ADWcleaner, Combofix

    How to create a task to shutdown PC when AC power is off

    Hi Genevieve,

    Thanks for the detailed explanation.

    The scheduled task you suggested shutdowns the PC everyday on a specific time only if the PC is on AC power.

    I am trying to create a task which is triggered when AC power goes off, not on a specific time, and action should be taken when the PC switches to battery power.

    So my task should be triggered by an event (not on a schedule) but I couldn't find the corresponding logs of power source change events. I don't even know if these events are logged.
