    PC Shuts Down Unexpectedly.

Lately my PC has been shutting down out of the blue, in about 5 seconds at that. Also, upon turning it back on it starts up real slowly. This generally happens when playing games, however if I'm on the computer that's what I'm doing so not sure if that's a good assumption. No viruses, according to AVG at least. When I look at shutdowns in event viewer it doesn't say much more than it shut down due to error.

/e I'm running windows 10 on an HP Envy with i7 Processor and 12 gb ram. Also, of 5 Hardware monitoring programs, not a single one will report any 5v or 12v readings for my motherboard. Is my power supply bad, or are none of these compatible enough to test it?

    :)

That's strange. I couldnt possibly know what it is without a dump going though. The only way possible would be to test each individual part of your computer. A common way to do this is slowly remove one part from your computer before powering up. So one
stick of ram, another stick, any GPU you have, a hard drive, until youre down to nothing but the CPU. (of course completely turning off the PSU each time and touching metal to remove static). The few times ive dealt with this crash it's been hardware related.

Do you receive any blue screen errors when this happens ? If not suggest to check temps and voltage with this free software, can be Power supply issue or temperature issue. Can post a screen capture from this software HWMONITOR | Softwares | CPUID

No, no blue screens or errors shown at all. Here's HWMonitor and HWiNFO64.

Temps look o.k., swore this program gave all reading from the power supply, but do not see it and is something else i would like to see how they are. Only other way i know of unless i am missing something with HWMonitor is going into the BIOS on your PC and checking Voltage of Power supply. Be concerned for readings of the voltage of the +3v, +5v, +12v. Let me know if you can access it in your BIOS. List them here, just type them out for me here.

Unfortunately, I found no option to check the voltage. According to a few places on google, HP computers don't offer the option. So...not sure where to go from here. No program so far has listed my 12 or 5v stats.

Odd for the BIOS not to show this, sure went through it all. Truthfully monitoring software is not really accurate for Power Supply the best would be a Digital Multi Meter or Probe. It would still give me an idea of low voltage and i feel this maybe your issue a bad Power Supply. Hate for you though to go out and buy another unless you know for sure.

Mention you only use this PC for games, but how does it react when not playing games, does this ever happen ? If only when playing games it happens it can be a overheating issue even though it seems fine when idle in HWMonitor. To prevent damage to CPU the PC will shutdown when CPU reaches it's max temp (TJ Max.).

Between possible overheating and a bad Power supply the causes i feel it might be right now, but by giving more detail about how it is in general without games.I did notice the temps to be high on the AMD Graphics card from HWMonitor and some system fans running bit high RPM's .

Take a look in Event Viewer at these 4 areas tell me if find any errors pertaining to this.

Looking through all of those in event viewer, I have about 100 errors regarding "This app can't be activated by the Built-in Administrator." Which I have only noticed happening since I went into BIOS to look over the settings. Other than those errors, nothing about shutting down, and zero hardware errors. So far, it has not shut down when idling or just browsing the net. It is either overheating, or not getting quite enough power when my cpus work hard.

O.k. originally i did not notice you used a program to post a screen capture called HWInfo32 or 64 by whichever bit your Operating system is. You did not scroll down all the way on HWInfo as it shows your Power Supply voltages +12v, +5v and so on.

As it seems your issue lies when playing games only. Have you updated your Graphics card drivers ? Is this the original Graphics card you have had ? As said before it can be the Power supply or a heat related issues and even possibly another hardware, the Graphics card or even the Motherboard, RAM or CPU.

Try running HWINFO again and post screen capture of it showing me the voltage of Power Supply. The other thing you can try is to monitor CPU, GPU and motherboard temps in game to see how they are and if they are causing this issue, you can use this combination of MSI Afterburner and HWInfo.
This article here explains how to do it http://www.ronwoods.us/2014/03/how-t...s-in-real.html
Link to Afterburner you will find in the above article.
In case HWInfo again, HWiNFO - Hardware Information, Analysis and Monitoring Tools

Let me know temps within a game if able to play long enough to record them.

sorry to bother, but my laptop randomly goes into some kind of stand by mode. the screen just turns black and it shuts itself down, but if i press the on button it just continues with whatever i was doing, nothing is gone, the weird thing is that it does'nt matter what i am doing. i can be playing games, watching videos, writing in a word document, just watching my screen, doesnt matter. i just don't know what to do anymore, i really don't know anything about computers so i'm kinda scared what is gonna happen

so this is what my properties say about my laptop, it's a Medion:
    -model: akoya P6638
    -processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-3120M CPU @ 2.50GHz
    -RAM: 4GB
    -System type: 64 bits , x64 processor
    Is that enough?

You may have to take it to a competent person and repaste the CPU.
