Windows 10: PC Slowed Since Installing Creators Edition

Yesterday my HP laptop was upgraded to Creators Edition from the prevailing earlier edition (with all updates. Since then my PC seems to have slowed. For example, when I mouse click on anything it takes about a second before the system responds. This happens when I click on a local file (SSD installed) or while I surf the web. The worse degrade in behavior is Youtube...whose response times have cratered. Yes, I have installed the latest Flash version as well. What is going on?

Creators Edition Has Slowed My PC

ASUS laptop, model GL552VW (in case someone wants to know hardware).

Playing Morrowind with MGSO (patch/modpack). Yesterday-today's update slowed down my game from smooth to 5-15 FPS. Same save. Tried starting a new game. Same low performance. It's ruining my free time!

Other minor annoyances:

Audio Volume Mixer got reset. Every application got boosted 100% of the globally set volume. Tore my ears a few times.

Numpad minus is back. I had rebinded it to be my End button. Same with Caps Lock. It's just getting in my way. I use Shift when I need a few capital letters and had rebound it to H for an extra button when playing games.

I use a mouse. And now I couldn't turn off the touchpad (the fn+F9 doesn't work). Had to disable the device in devmgmt.msc. Now, if I ever have to use my laptop without a mouse, I'll heve to go and re-enable the touchpad by keyboard -.-

I hope I don't have to wrestle with "TrustedInstaller" for access to my files again. It sure looks like it took over again. Damn cockroach...

If anyone has any advice how to get the performance back, PLEASE tell me.

EDIT: ---[ SOLVED! ]---

1) Go to your exe's properties, compatibility and toggle "Disable fullscreen optimizations".

2) It seems the update also messed with your graphics card options. My game's graphics were using my laptops CPU instead of GPU. Switch that back, too.

Stupid Windows. Ah, well... Time to get rid of those minor annoyances. Typing "-" instead of getting to the "End" of a line is frustrating.

Creators Edition was installed on my HP laptop yesterday, upgraded from the previous version of Win 10. Since then I have noticed a slow down of this PC when accessing files from my SSD or surfing the web. Any ideas?

Hi, please post a screenshot of your task manager when your PC is demonstrating this delay, organising any columns of interest high to low by clicking on the relevant column tab. Repeat for different columns if useful.

If there is significant resource usage, do a clean boot (see Tutorial section or search if unsure how to do that)
Perform a Clean Boot in Windows 10 to Troubleshoot Software Conflicts[/U][/URL]
and repeat the above.
