Windows 10: PC sometimes boots to desktop and freezes. Any ideas?

Hi all, I can't seem to figure out what is going on with my PC. More times than not my computer will boot to the desktop and freeze. I then have to restart my PC and it's fine. Sometimes, it does the same and I have to constantly restart until it's running normally. When it is running fine all is well. I updated all my drivers so all seems to be fine. I can't seem to update the BIOS but I can't seem to pinpoint the problem with the freezing.


I'm running windows 10 pro


My specs are the following.


CPU: intel i7 -4790 Quad Core
Liquid CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM
Motherboard: Asus z97-a Socket 1150 intel z97
Memory: G.SKILL TridentX Series 16GB (2 x 8GB)
Storage: SAMSUNG 128GB SSD, SAMSUNG 256GB SSD & WD 2TB HDD
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3gb GDDR5
Power Supply: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 750W







Has anyone ever had this occur to them? I did notice twice last week the computer BSODed and if I remember correctly it was my netosio.sys file.


I will post my BSOD reports later this evening when I get home from work.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Windows 10 installed, but it BSOD's

I upgraded my laptop and get an error when Windows 10 boots;

Your pc ran into a problem and needs to restart: kernel_data_inpage error...amdppm.sys

Then it automatically reboot's and continues to the desktop.

Another problem is it freezes after it goes to Sleep and will not wake up, and sometimes it locks up when I choose

shutdown.

 

Black Screen and Freezing problem

Installed Windows 10 and is now running into issues. When my PC boots up, it sometimes either freezes with this black screen and movable cursor, freezes at lock screen or black screen after I log in, and mostly everything stops responding if it so happens
to load my home screen. Any help with these?

 

Your temps are getting to high, you need to clean your case of dust and if required reapply thermal paste, that should get the temps more down assuming you have a proper cooling system.

 

It is definitely time to clean the case. I have a Cooler Master HAF X Case. As for the CPU it currently has a Corsair H100 on it. I have also attached my DM log to the original post. Thanks !

Hello, I had someone local build my computer. He pre-installed everything for me. Do I just uninstall all adobe products since that's what it looks like it's blocking?

 

Unless you give those tech guys a key for activation they'll activate everything illegal because that is the cheapest.

You have to remove all illegal activated programs in order to proceed.

 

That explains why I always have a problem updating my programs and why the cost was so low for an adobe suite.. I'll be sure to run this by them. I will uninstall all adobe programs when I get home this evening. Thank you for the heads up axe0. I'll be sure to get in touch with them for a refund.

 

FYI, piracy may or may not be a direct cause, but if it is not a direct cause then it certainly will influence it what makes troubleshooting difficult.

axe0, I was able to remove all adobe programs however I'm still getting the error. Any ideas? I also found out that the company that installed the suite is no longer around.

 

I had another look at your pic of the temps, it seems I confused F with C as I normally see them otherwise (F first and thereafter C). The temps in the pic are fine.

You mean you boot to the desktop and your system freezes?

 

Okay sounds good! As for the computer sometimes it will boot up to the desktop and won't fully load it seems. It will get stuck and I have to manually shut it down and reboot in order for it to fully boot. I can try taking a video of the boot process if needed.

 

Could you disable fast startup, if it is enabled, to see if that makes any difference
