PC still automounts volume even after disabling NoAutoMount registry key

Why is Win 10 still mounting volumes even if the diskpart AUTOMOUNT command is being set to disable or a Registry Key NoAutoMount is created with a DWord of 1- to avoid automounting of newly attached volumes.

Apart from the lack of control to the operating system this would seem to be a vulnerability that could be exploited when the intent of enabling this function would seem to be a way to protect the system.

    Thanks

  2. Trying to disable the Insert key with a Registry edit

    Hi Bill,

We appreciate the information that you provided. For us to narrow down your concern with
disabling the Insert key with a Registry edit, have you tried creating a backup before editing the registry? If yes, we suggest that you restore it back; then, try it again with the correct entry. To do this, see this
    link, and follow the steps/instructions.

We would appreciate it if you could get back to us and provide us your feedback.

How to disable automount of drives in Windows 10

    Hello All,
Does anyone have an idea of how to prevent the automounting of hard disks / other media (particularly USB drives and SD cards) in Windows 10? It seems that the registry hacks that work in Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1 do not work in Windows 10.

To check this, take a look in Computer Management -> Disk Managment. What I want is for the Disk to show up but be listed as Offline (not Online).

    Thanks,
    Jonathan

Keyboard Volume Keys not working while in-game

I happen to have used the Tt Challenger Pro keyboard in the past, and the volume keys worked flawlessly in every game, so it's indeed a weird problem. I would suggest the same thing sneekypeet suggested, using the keyboard software and assign this function to a hotkey, but you said that didn't work either, so yeah...
