Pc taken over by viruses and malware

So my girlfriend got tricked by these multiple download button sites and unfortunately my pc is now possesed by all kinds of viruses and malware. It goes from hijacking my brownser (something called youndoo) to disabling the windows defender "permanently" ( had to go to the registry and delete some values).
I tried using adwcleaner. It did found something around 80 treats but didn't solve the problem.
    So what should I do:
    Scan my pc with windows defender or some other software;
Reset windows, but keep my files.
Reset windows and delete everything. Note that my w10 is installed in a ssd and everything else is on a hdd. Will it delete just the ssd stuff or everything on every drive?

    Thanks in advance

    :)

  2. Unable to Reset Using Anything

I have tried to factory reset this computer multiple times. It is loaded with malware and viruses and have nearly taken over. Reset through the settings is not available. Media creation tool is not available. I even bought a Windows installation kit and
that is also not available. Please help me, this is my last resort for this computer.

    Hi

It sounds like you have a malware/adware problem and or a browser hijacker.

Please try the tools on the page below.

Use the free version of malwarebytes.

Hmm I thought resetting would be the last resort. Thanks for the link, I will follow the guide and see if it works (tried some guides that didn't). And if it does work, how can I know that my pc is clean again? For instance, there is this Wizzcaster thing that opened random internet tabs that I disabled in the task mannager, but it is still here.

I successfuly removed youndoo from my pc thanks to this guide.I aprreciate that. The thing now is that windows defender is still finding some trojan when I scan my computer. In this case, is reseting the windows a valid option or not?

I don't have that option. And from what I see, your antimalware client version, antivirus and antispyware definitions are on a newer version than mine. Did I miss a windows update? I'm checking for updates now

    Yes - the Anniversary Update.

Your build 10586 is Windows 10 version 1511. The built-in Defender Offline option came in with the AU build, 14393 - Windows 10 version 1607.

But Defender Offline has been available for download since Windows 7...
    https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/...-protect-my-pc
Follow the instructions for Windows 7 in the above link to make a bootable USB/CD that will run Defender Offline.

Edit: I have tried it and it works equally well under Windows 10 (in fact it came with more up to date definitions than I currently have on my PC).

The reason that my os is not up to date is because I got stuck on the "Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3163018) - Error 0x8007045b". But anyway, I made a bootle usb drive and did a full scan and nothing was found ( just a maya keygen from when I took a 3d moddeling class). So maybe I'm clean?

Should I use the windows' reset tool just to be sure or is it unnecessary?

What makes me suspicious is that when I boot my computer I'm getting a normal load screen (blue logo and white dots running in circles), then it disappears and then a new loading screen in a lower resolution pops up and then the password screen apears. I don't recall this low res loading screen before the incident. Maybe I'm beeing paranoid, but I don't know how these boot viruses work.

I would wipe all drives and do a clean install if this was my PC. Ensure you back up your data and that is free from infections by virus checking the data before backing up.

I decided to reset the windows. It is not showing any signs of malware or viruses. Now I'm uploading to one drive my photos, videos and documents and then will format the hdd completely.
