pc taking much longer to boot than normal

until about a week ago my pc took about 11 seconds to boot and 2 seconds to shut off but recently it started taking up to one minute to boot and on average 40 seconds while taking 6 seconds to shut down with the only difference being the new windows 11 update tried disabling all startups apps, but it only affected it by less than a seconds. I haven't installed any new files or made changes to settings at all does anyone know what's going on if the new windows update is slowing down the start or if it's happening to anybody else?

    :)

  2. PC stuck in Safe mode, unable to boot to Normal mode.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community. I understand the inconvenience you are facing. I will certainly help you with this.

I appreciate if you could answer few questions to narrow down the issue and to provide you better assistance.

    • What error do you get when you try to boot in normal mode?
    • Did you entered Safe mode through Windows Recovery Environment or through System Config?

I suggest you to try the below given steps and check if it works:

    • Press Windows key + R and type msconfig and hit enter.
    • On the General tab, tap or click the Normal Startup option.
    • On the Boot tab, uncheck all the option under Safe mode.
    • Tap or click OK, when you are prompted to restart the computer, tap or click Restart.

Please post back with the results and the information asked, we will be glad to assist you further.

    laptop doesnt boot automatically

    This is what happened.

    1. Did a repair install and later disabled hibertnate in CMD.
    2. Enabled legacy option ROM in BIOS.
    3. After a few times startup ( i used the system in such mode for 5 days), changed boot option back to default.
    4. Vola!! It boots automatically to win10 without any keypress. Tested it with many starts to confirm the same.
    5. Re-enabled hibernate option using CMD and later selected Fast Startup.
    6. System booted normally, without the need for any keypress.

I do not know exactly whether such steps resolved the problem or what else happened, hence cannot suggest above steps.

Many thanks to all members who helped to troubleshoot problems.

  4. pc taking much longer to boot than normal

The longer the PC stays on and used the longer it takes applications to load

I have a brand new souped up PC with a clean install of Windows10 Pro. Here is the issue.

When I first boot the PC everything is refreshingly fast. It boots fast, it is ready to use fast and applications (e.g., Microsoft Word) load in what might be called a blink of the eye. If it would only stay that way ;-(.

I typically never turn my PC off. As I use this PC over time, the loading of applications becomes depressingly slow. What used to take a second or two can now take 20 or 30 seconds. Eventually, I get fed up and restart the PC.

Surely this shouldn't be normal. Anyone have a suggestion or thought on how to resolve (without having to shutdown the PC)?

    Thanks.
