Windows 10: PC to One Drive: How long does it take for a sync pending file to fully synchronize?

Hi, I have some .mp4 files that I want to transfer from my PC to my One Drive. I'm VERY new to using One Drive and my intent is to free up space on my PC. Is One Drive in the cloud or is it on my PC? I'm asking because when I click on my "This PC" in file explorer, the "Local Disk C" showing amount of free space doesn't appear to be moving after I've moved files to One Drive... in the status bar, I see "Sync pending". How long would it take for a sync pending file to fully synchronize?Thanks!

Onedrive sync pending issue

Hi guys, I've just started using Onedrive. I have all my important documents stored in their individual folders saved on a USB flash drive so I copied them over to my Profile Documents folder. At that point, all the files synced to Onedrive. However, 3 out of the 9 folders remained on sync pending after all the others showed as synced. When I checked through all the files within the three folders appear to have synced correctly to Onedrive. It was only the folder that contained the files which showed as sync pending.

After reading up on this, any hidden files can cause this so I checked if any of the folders contained any hidden files which they didn't. I read that if you just rename the folder it can fix the issue. That worked with one of the folders..it then synced the folder immediately. Another recommendation was to move the files from within the folders that show as sync pending into another folder and delete the original. This worked but even then I had to also rename the new folders several times before it worked.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems and if so How did you fix the issue?

 

WMDC file synchronization

I removed the sync folder on the PC when deleting the partnership. This is an explicit option of WMDC, when a partnership is deleted.

With the new partnership the new sync folder for the synchronisation of the "My Documents" of the smartphone was created on the PC, but it was empty. If I copy a file into that folder on the PC, this file is synchronized to the smartphone, but none of the files
on the smartphone are copied to the PC.

The restriction to unidirectional synchronization survived deleting the partnership. I also noticed that one Outlook Sync parameter, namely the period of how long past appointments should be synchronized, survived deleting the partnership. It must be stored
somehow separately, as appears to be the parameters for the unidirectional synchronization.

 

What does Sync Pending mean?

Sync Pending just means that file is not fully synced to your OneDrive, it may be syncing other files at the moment and will get to that file, it is in the queue to sync, you cannot jump that file up the sync list, it will sync, you just need to wait.

If you want to manually upload a file to OneDrive, you can drag it into OneDrive in a web browser.

Right click the OneDrive icon on your Taskbar and open OneDrive settings, do you have Files on Demand enabled?
