Windows 10: Pc turning on after hibernation problem

Hello everyone.


I have a weird problem with my pc, after it goes into hibernation, waking it up doesn't always work.

Sometimes it works fine, but sometimes quite often nowadays it won't turn on fully, all leds turn on, fans ramp up but there is no video output, and the entire system seems not to be responsive.

In order to make it work, I have to hard reset it, and usually that won't work the first time either, i get past bios but right when windows are supposed to load, it goes to black screen again. After 2-3 resets everything seems fine and it boots up ok, and once it boots up, thats it, no other issue appears and it works fine. Fyi, sometimes the display turns off because of lack of signal, but sometimes it stays black but detects a signal.

Something weird i noticed is that while it gets stuck, my keyboard lighting works, but it is like lagging, i press the key to switch lighting color for example and the function lags in time if i spam the key, the keyboard response is like 1 change per second, like the usb gives power to the keyboard but something is off, i don't know if this is relevant.

Windows 10 Hibernate problems

I suggest you to follow the methods provided below and check if it helps.

I suggest you to run the Power troubleshooter by following the steps below and check if for any power components change status.

• Press Windows logo key on the keyboard, type troubleshooting and select the top most search result.
• Click on View All from the left side panel of the window.
• Select Power from the options, click on Advanced option and check Apply repairs automatically option.
• Follow the on screen instructions and wait for the troubleshooting to complete.
• Check for the missing/corrupted power component status of the troubleshooter, close the window and check if the issue is resolved.

Battery drain in hibernation

This is a volunteers forum. We cannot fix anything for you!

I would start by taking these steps:

1. Put Windows into hibernation.
2. Get it out of hibernation.
3. Check the time stamp of the hidden file C:\Hiberfil.sys. Does it reflect the time when you took Step 1 above? If it does not then the machine was not in hibernation.
4. Before going to bed, make a note of the battery charge.
5. Switch the machine off and unplug the power cord.
6. Next morning, before plugging in the power cord but after turning it on, make another note of the battery charge. If there is a noticeable discharge then you have a leaky battery or a problem with the motherboard. Windows can't be the culprit because it
   was off all night.

• Under the Sleep option, click the drop down menu to set the number of minutes/hours you would like your PC to sleep/hibernate. We suggest that you select
  Never if you do not want you system to hibernate.
• Close all windows for the changes to take effect.
