    Hello, im having an issue with my pc. Based on the title, my pc will start, show the enter to bios option also the motherboard brand, then windows start up logo. Thats when the fan will blast to full speed, video on monitor will go out, then shuts down. I've been having this issue for a while now, all I do is dust off my cpu then it will work but now it doesn't work. What could be the issue?

    Black screen after 'Starting Windows' sequence

    Sounds like the old... windows black screen of death.

    Try this quoted from "VisiHow" article "Repair Windows 7 Black Screen of Death":

    They, also, have some other options there, too.
    Google search and you will find a lot of the "Windows Black Screen of Death with cursor" fixes.

    HELP! windows won't start

    Just got home today,
    turned on computer and windows won't start.

    What happens

    BIOS appears-
    loading asus express gate...
    microsoft corporation (with small loading bar)

    after the loading bar, a windows logo inscribed in a circle should appear and illuminate.
    instead i just get a movable cursor on a black screen...

    after a while it reboots and the process starts again.

    I'm suspecting its the windows update my computer installed last night as it was shutting down.


    Going into safe mode and restoring...hopefully this works.
    I'm creating this thread from my dad's laptop ><

    Any suggestion will be appreciated! *Cry :cry:

    EDIT: i forgot to mention, the first time (blank screen for 5 min) ended in a quick BSOD and reboot.

    Hello BreadedChicken, and welcome to Ten Forums. Pc will start, will show windows start up logo, then turns black and shuts down :)

    The Occasionally show suggestions in Start setting is only for the Suggested apps shown in the All Apps list in the Start menu instead.

    *Arrow Turn On or Off App Suggestions on Start in Windows 10 Windows 10 Customization Tutorials

    You can also turn off automatic installation of suggested apps to completely stop them. Be sure to also read the blue note box at the top of the tutorial below for more info.
