Using a router to connect PC with Ethernet

Their is only one phone jack where a modem can be placed in our house and it is to complicated to get Ethernet from the modem up to my computer. I can still connect with wireless internet but I want to be able to use Ethernet. The modem is a all in one (router+modem). If I buy a router and place it in my room can it connect to the all in one modem without using a phone jack (Just plugging it into the power outlet) alowing me to connect the router to the PC using Ethernet?

Windows 10 Ethernet connection randomly disconnects

    Hello,

So this issue has been annoying me since i have changed my old i5-4670 with a ryzen.

Ethernet: Realtek 8111H (MSI X370 Gaming Plus)
    Modem/Router: Airties Air 5760

What i have tried so far to fix my issue:
    • Re-installing Windows
    • Updating Ryzen chipset drivers
    • Updating Realtek LAN drivers (both from MSI & Realtek)
    • Updating MSI' LAN releated drivers (MSI Gaming Lan Manager)
    • Replacing ethernet cable
    • Restarting router to factory settings
Still no luck, keeps happening randomly. Sometimes it is stable for days then it is not stable for 20 mins. Happening when gaming or idle, or while streaming via steam link.
Windows' own issue fixer thingy fix the issue for the moment, re-plugging the cable, disabling & enabling the ethernet adapter also fixes the issue for the moment.
Also i am the only one having this issue in the network, TV and phones are still connected to wifi.

It is started to be real annoying, so time to get help to fix the issue from TPU. Thanks in advance! *I Love TPU :lovetpu:

Replace modem (but NOT router) with T-Mobile Home internet device?

T-Mobile offers home internet devices. For target customers, it replaces existing routers and cable or DSL modem.

But I don't want it to be the router for my home network. I just want it to eliminate the modem and expensive ISP internet service. I want my existing Wi-Fi router with numerous gigabit Ethernet devices off it to continue providing both Wi-Fi and Ethernet for my home network.

I ordered and just received the T-Mobile device for a free trial and am wondering how to do that.

My router can be configured as either a router or access point. Can I just configure the router as an access point and connect it to the T-Mobile device instead of my cable modem by Ethernet?

Hopefully I can turn off the Wi-Fi in the T-Mobile device. If I can't and don't return this thing over that, is unused Wi-Fi from this device likely to interfere with my "real" Wi-Fi?

And actually, another question but a phone forum acquaintance got one of these devices and reported the supposedly gigabit Ethernet port had terrible network performance when he connected a PC to it via that port as opposed to via the device's Wi-Fi. If anyone reading has one of these (Nokia version) can confirm same or different results, would be appreciated.

Didn't include my Windows info here since the questions would be the same even if I didn't use Windows. But my profile is up to date on Windows.
