Windows 10: PC with Windows 10 Activation Issue

I have a desktop PC that I have had for years. I have Windows 10 installed, all of a sudden I cannot get past the enter pin / password page. Every time I enter the PIN it says credentials could not be verified, I tried resetting password multiple times and it throws an error I am connected via LAN so I know that I have internet connection thus it should be able to verify my credentials. I brought my PC to a computer repair shop since I assumed my hard drive must be corrupted, they took a look and said since it boots without issue and remembers my specific user that it must be a Windows 10 so

I would suggest you to run the chkdsk which repairs the disk errors, follow the steps:

Follow the steps to check disk for errors.

a) Move the mouse pointer to bottom left of the screen where you see preview of start menu and right-click to bring up a list of Windows settings.

b) Click on ‘Command Prompt (Admin)’ to bring up elevated command prompt.

Note: Click ‘Yes’ if it prompts for permission.

c) In the command prompt, type ‘chkdsk /r’ and press Enter.

Answer Y when ‘chkdsk’ asks you if you want to check the drive next time computer boots (restarts).

Important: While performing chkdsk on the hard drive if any bad sectors are found on the hard drive when chkdsk tries to repair that sector if any data available on that might be lost

If you made substantial hardware changes to your PC, such as replacing your hard drive or motherboard, Windows might no longer be activated on your PC. I suggest you to refer to the Microsoft help article for activation
issues and check if it helps.
