Windows 10: PC won't connect to Ethernet after waking up from Sleep mode

I've got a custom build Win10 PC using Intel. Lately, every time I wake my computer up from being in sleep mode, it'll go through about 30 seconds to 2 minute process of going back and forth between showing I have internet access, to showing I have no ethernet plugged in, to showing it's plugged in with no internet access. This normally ends with my ethernet finally coming around and connecting for the rest of the time I'm on. Additionally, if the connect/disconnect loop doesn't stop, then when I restart my computer this issue will fix itself and automatically connect as soon as everything com

Sleep Mode Disconnects Ethernet Internet Connection - An Oldie but a Goodie

Hi,

There's a possibility that your Ethernet connection is not enabled to wake on magic packet. For us to isolate this, let's look into the advanced settings of your network adapter. Follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Device Manager > Network adapters.
2. Right-click on your Ethernet connection and click Properties.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4. Under Property, scroll down and select Wake on magic packet.
5. Set the value to Enabled.
6. Click OK.

Once done, try to observe if Ethernet connection still disconnects if put to sleep mode.

Sleep Mode... It won't wake up!

computer wont wake up in Vista

thanks, The problem was that on hitting ESC or any key on the keyboard wont wake up the PC either. This seems to be a common problem with Vista from the posts here.
When I pressed the power button funnily enough, it woke up - then I disabled the mouse ability to wake up as you said. I am not sure what the difference is between hibernate and sleep mode. I pressed start and hit sleep last time, perhaps this time I will try hitting hibernate instead. Mind I shouldnt have to do this then I am manually putting it in hibernate or sleep - isnt it supposed to go into sleep mode itself?
Sometimes I am glad I still have Wndows XP and my other PC hee.
