Windows 10: PC wont copy files to external HDD

Hello,I'm trying to copy a file that is 380GB to an External drive that has 1.63TB of free space. When I attempt to copy this file over by either dragging/dropping or copy/pasting it says "There is not enough space on Local disk" and shows me the space available on my local SSD instead? But I'm not even copying to my SSD so I don't know why that would affect my external drive space. I've repaired the drive as recommended by windows and restarted the computer. I'm trying to copy to the E. drive.

The message that appeared on your screen may have occurred due to the possible missing files if you'll try to copy it that way. We suggest that you follow these steps on how you can copy the file together with it's properties:

• Right click on the application (Bully) and click Properties.
• On the application properties window, under the Shortcut tab, click
  Open File Location.
• The File Location window will open.
• Select everything. Copy and paste it to the external drive.
• The copying process may take a while depending on the type of files.

Use hdd with windows 10 as external hdd to copy files

Hello i have hdd with windows 10 installed on my pc and i plan to put it in external hdd enclosure and copy files from my friends pc and return it later on my pc... Problem is will windows 10 confict the files??? Cuzz a friend told me if i do that windows
repair will appear and delete that file you just copied...

 

Java.nio.file - Copying files

You can't copy a folder, thats why it generates an exception (you are trying to copy a folder using a copy file function).
You probably need to list all the files inside that folder and copy one by one
