  1. PCIe SSD Drive showing in Bios, but not showing in Disk Management

HiI just bought a 4TB PCIe NVME SSD Hard Drive from Crucial and they’re closed for the weekend now so I can’t get support from them.I’m trying to install it in my Alienware M15 laptop computer and have checked compatibility with both Alienware Dell and Crucial. When I put the new drive into the PCIe ports I’ve tried various combinations, it is recognised in the Bios but will not show in Windows or Disk Management. There is no prompt appearing for Disk Initialisation and I can’t get it to recognise the new Hard Drive anywhere but in the bios. When I remove the new drive and put the old drive i

  2. My Centon 120 gb SSD shows up in BIOS and Win10 Device Manager, but does not show up in Disk Management to enable formatting. How can I format this SSD?

My Centon 120 gb SSD shows up in BIOS and Win10 Device Manager, but does not show up in Disk Management to enable formatting. How can I format this SSD?

I have a new Dell 8900 with updated drivers and software. I have not added as SSD before and I am afraid I am missing something obvious.

The drive shows up in the BIOS in SATA 4 port. It also is in the Device Manager under the Disk Drives heading as SATA SSD. It does not show up in the listing of drives under Disk Management.

I know it needs to be formatted, but it does not have a drive letter assigned and I do not see how to get it one.

I did try Uninstalling the driver under the Device Manager, it just found the same info after scanning for new hardware.

    Thanks for your help...

  3. SSD Not showing in Device Manager after OS Reinstall

    Hi Dan,

    I've gone through the steps.

    1. In DIsk management, no uninitialized disk showed up.

2,3,4 Not applicable since it doesnt show up in disk management.

Also, Minitool partition wizard doesn't see the SSD either, probably because the BIOS doesn't recognize the SSD (the drive type shows None).

    5. Drive doesnt show up in Minitool so not doable.

    6. The SSD is enabled in the BIOS. I've tried disabling then re-enabling.

As for updating the drivers, I've updated the IDE ATA/ATAPI controller drivers, and also tried Intel's SSD Toolkit to see drivers, but nothing found that's related to SSD.

The final step using seaTools says it doesnt test SATA.

  4. PCIe SSD Drive showing in Bios, but not showing in Disk Management

SSD Not showing in Device Manager after OS Reinstall

I'm using a Dell Inspiron Desktop PC which I've had for 3 years. Suddenly got blue screen of death today, and had to reinstall windows.

THe only problem is, not only the HDD is showing up, the SSD doesn't show up anywhere.

The SSD does NOT show up in Device Manager (under disks, only thing there is the HDD)

It does NOT show up in Disk Management

It does NOT show up in diskpart > list disk

My DriverEasy is showing that I have Intel Chipset SATA Raid Controller installed, which seems like the device driver for the SSD (but not 100% sure, couldn't find any info on this driver)

In my BIOS, under system config > Drives, I do see a M.2 PCIE SSD-0, with type {None} and Device id {None}, SATA Operation is currently set to RAID On.

Does anyone know how to proceed from here? Most of the troubleshooting requires seeing it in the device manager, which I can't do because its not in the device manager.
