  1. PDF Display in browser vs downloading to view

This may be a dumb question involving something something obvious but I have to ask.
I have a small Apache web server which hosts a few websites. The system runs on Windows 10 Pro OS. The previous system ran on Windows 7 Pro. It was upgraded to WIndows 10 Pro about 4 months ago. After the upgrade to Win10, someone noticed that pdf files hosted on the websites were no longer opening in browsers but were being downloaded instead.

This isn't a huge issue but in cases where the pdf is large it slows down the opening time significantly and is why I had hard-coded into the sites to open the documents in the browser data stream rather than downloading them.
As I do not know what caused this, I have not been able to find a way to get it to work again. Is the change due to the way Windows 10 interprets things or do I need to update the Apache version or something else entirely.

    :)

Nokia C2 01 Can't display email attachments such as PDF

Currently its not possible to view the PDF attachments by downloading them using the email app. You can download using the browser & open
some of them using the PDF reader app on the Nokia Store.

    E61 using Blackberry Connect

I am successfully using E61 with Blackberry connect using BES with Lotus Notes 6.5 on Rogers in Canada. Two issues / questions:

    1. Is there any way to view company directory (white pages) for contact info?

    2. When viewing attachments, e.g., Office (PP, word, etc.) or PDF files, only text is displayed vs graphics. When viewing attachments through POP3 email for personal email, attachments look great.

    Thanks.

What browser are they using? Opening a PDF directly in the browser depends on if the browser has that function built-in or was relying on an extension from say Adobe.

  5. I'm guessing its Edge doing it, as its the default viewer for PDF files in Windows 10. It likely took over after you upgraded to Windows 10. I prefer the Reader App myself. I don't use Edge myself so I don't know where you look for those settings.

  7. Those I know, thanks for posting them, I probably should have posted them myself. My train of thought was, maybe there are some settings in Edge itself that could be, or should be changed, to change its behavior.

How about looking at the extensions defaults and see where it's defaulting. I use Foxit Reader, so mine is there.

Same thing.. different location that's all. And it's about time to start to use
the settings so users get used to it, the control panel will go away some time.

  12. Not to get off topic, but I wish they'd just get at it and move everything over to settings already. These days I open settings first, then if I can't find what I want I go to control panel. Makes it easier (for me anyway) to remember what is where in settings. The more I use it the easier it gets to find stuff. No sense waiting till the last second to start using it.

I agree.. I want them to get rid of the control panel ASAP. In the long run it would be easier to help out people when we can just provide one solution to questions like this one.
