  1. PDF File Saves to MS-DOS Application

When I save a PDF file, it now shows as an MS-DOS Application. It will not allow me to open the file. I'm not sure what has happened as I've not made any changes to my Windows 10 operating system. How can this be resolved?

  3. microsoft print to pdf files will not open after saving

We suggest that you save the PDF files on your device and check if the issue persists. You may also want to associate the PDF files to Microsoft Edge as the default program to make sure that you have a default application that will open all of your PDF files.
    Here are the steps:

    • Search for Default Programs.
    • Go to Associate a file type or protocol with a program.
    • Select the .pdf file type and then click the Change program button on the upper right of the
      Set Associations window.
    • Choose Microsoft Edge and then click OK.
Let us know how it goes.

  4. PDF File Saves to MS-DOS Application

All files are saving as PDF

    Hello Microsoft Community!

I am having an issue that just started today, very strange and annoying. All of my files are saving in PDF format, no matter the original program or the "Save As" selection. It is still showing up in the file explorer as a PDF. Below are a few steps that I have taken to attempt to resolve the issue. If anyone has any suggestion or insight that may be helpful, I am all ears. Thank you!

    • Attempted conversion from the original program and also Adobe - no luck with this.
    • Attempted to save the file in a different location, both cloud and local. No resolve.
    • Ran anti-virus to check for anything harmful. Clean scan.
    • Ran SFC to check for corrupt files. Scan located and repaired files.
    • Went into the default program settings. No changes were need there.
    • My pc and all programs are up to date.

Again, any help or suggestion is helpful.

      Thank you kindly!
