PDF files loading extremely slow now, edits take forever

Hello all! I am using Windows 11. I play D&D with a group online and have been using a PDF file for my character sheet for years. I've never had issues with the default Edge PDF viewer/editer, but today I started having problems. The PDF file takes a solid 30 seconds to load, loads in completely blank, and then all the text finally appears another 20 seconds or so later. Problem is, all of the text is in a much larger font now and is double spaced, and all goes way outside the boxes on the paper now. If I try clicking into a field and edit it in any way delete, add text, etc, the edits a

    Cllipchamp loading video extremely slow

    Hello! tonyzam42

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community

It seems to me you’re experiencing with Clipchamp. Slow video loading can be frustrating, especially when you’re eager to edit your footage. Please note that we have limited resources and troubleshooting steps if the issue is within the device.

    Allow me to ask:

    • Is this happening to other files? or just this specific file?
    • Is this only happening in the Galaxy S24 phone? or is it also happening in the other device?

    Let’s troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Network Connection:
      • First, ensure that your network connection is stable and fast enough for uploading and downloading large files. A slow internet connection might contribute to the delay in loading videos.
    2. Browser Cache and Cookies:
      • Sometimes, cached data or cookies in your browser can cause performance issues. Try the following steps:
        • Clear your browser cache: This will remove stored data that might be affecting Clipchamp’s performance.
        • Clear cookies and site data: Similar to cache, clearing cookies can help resolve loading issues.
    3. Refresh the Page:
      • Sometimes a simple page refresh can work wonders. Right-click on the Clipchamp page and select “Reload” or use your browser’s reload button. This often resolves loading problems, especially when you first open a project.
    4. Camera Settings:
      • While the camera settings on your Galaxy S24 might not directly impact Clipchamp’s loading speed, it’s still worth checking them:
        • Ensure you’re recording videos in a compatible format (e.g., MP4, MOV).
        • Verify that the resolution and frame rate settings are reasonable. Extremely high resolutions or frame rates might result in larger files that take longer to load.
    5. Check for updates
      • You can check the update for the Clipchamp by going to the Samsung store, or Google Play store.
      • Check the updates for your Operating system in your phone.

You can check the following file inputs that Clipchamp support: What input file types does Clipchamp support? - Microsoft Support

Remember that Clipchamp’s performance can also depend on your device’s processing power and available memory. Please let me know if you are still facing the same issue or have fixed the issue after trying the troubleshooting steps above.

    Thank you,

    Vince

Slow loading of programs like Paint / Can't edit files on Photos

Why do programs like Paint and Photoshop take FOREVER to load? It's not like my computer slows down as they are loading either. My computer is running well without any issues, but this is still a problem. I was part of the Insider Program and I am up-to-date. Also, the Photos program can't edit any files because of their "file types." This happens to ALL file types. I am starting to get annoyed with all of this. Isn't this sort of shit already supposed to be fixed?

    Any fix suggestions?

    Thanks.

Files explorer extremely slow to load..

    Hi Yadunath S

We value your contribution to the Microsoft Community. I understand that dealing with a slow File Explorer can be quite frustrating. Let’s explore some potential remedies to improve its performance:

    1. Go to settings>Apps> Installed Apps>Click on the 3 dots under Microsoft Edge> Then click on Modify> then follow the prompt.
    2. Restart File Explorer:
      • Sometimes, restarting File Explorer can resolve performance issues. Here’s how you can do it:
        • Right-click on an empty space in your taskbar (or the Start menu icon if you’re using Windows 11).
        • Choose Task Manager from the context menu.
        • Stay on the Processes tab.
        • Click on Windows Explorer from your open applications, and then click the Restart task button.
        • Wait for File Explorer to restart.
    3. Clear File Explorer Cache:
      • Cached data can sometimes slow down File Explorer. Clearing the cache might help:
        • Open File Explorer on your PC.
        • Select the three dots at the top of the window and choose Options.
        • Click the Clear button next to Clear File Explorer history.
        • Close and reopen all your File Explorer windows.
    4. Check for Background Services:
      • Some background services might be affecting File Explorer’s performance. You can disable non-essential services:
        • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
        • Locate Windows Explorer in the list of processes.
        • Right-click it and choose Restart.
    5. System Configuration (msconfig):
      • You can also try the following steps:
        • Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
        • Type msconfig and click OK to open System Configuration.
        • On the Services tab, check Hide All Microsoft Services and click Disable All.
        • Click Apply and OK.
        • Restart your computer.

If these solutions do not work, you can try running the System File Checker tool to scan for and repair any corrupted system files. To do this, open the Command Prompt as an administrator and type sfc /scannow and press Enter.

Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Kind regards,

    Christopher.
