PDF not staying linked to Acrobat

As many are aware the problem with PDFs being opened by EDGE is still ongoing. I have now solved this issue, however I cannot keep my PDFs linked to Acrobat Pro. I have to access the "Default Apps" between 4 and 6 times a day, I think the issues is registry one. My question is this does anyone know of a way to edit the registry that will link the pdfs to Acrobat permanently? (Note I am running Win10, Vers.1903)

    Any help would be great.

    :)

  2. Adobe Acrobat Reader (AAR) prevented as Default PDF file Opener

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

Since when are you facing this issue?

I suggest you to set default applications by file type from Windows settings. Follow the steps mentioned below:-

    1. Tap on Windows + I on the keyboard.

    2. Click on Apps.

    3. Select Default apps option.

    4. Select Choose
    default app by file type.

    5. Next to .pdf choose a default application as
    Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

If the issue still persists try to Set Acrobat or Reader as the default PDF owner. Refer the following link steps to

set Acrobat or reader as the default PDF owner

    Hope it helps.

  4. PDF not staying linked to Acrobat

Open pdf files with Acrobat Reader

Searching for open pdf files with Acrobat Reader only returns results for previous versions of Windows, nothing specifically for Windows 10 Preview. When I click to open a pdf file, the new window is still part of IE 11, it is not opening the file in Acrobat
    Reader.

I use it a lot for statements and other documents, I need to be able to easily save and print.

    Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
