Windows 10: Pen drive not detecting/working.

My pen drive not detecting in my pc. its not even showing in file explorer. And I check disk management there its showing as disk 1 (f). and also showing as no media. I checked the properties of that, there its showing my device's name and all. I tried to format it using cmd, but at that time its giving messege "cant open with direct access". is there any solution to solve this?

Pen drive connectivity issue

After upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10, the system is not detecting any pen drives. I tried with different ones but not detecting. It gives a beep after inserting pen drive in the port but doesn't recognize further.

  Do you see any error code or error message on the screen?

  What is the make and model of your computer and USB drive?
  

I suggest you to perform the below mentioned troubleshooting methods and check if it helps.

Method 1: Hardware Troubleshooter

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Printer. Refer these steps:

• 1. Press Windows key +X, select Control panel
  
  2. Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
  
  3. Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
  
  4. Run the Hardware and devices.

Check if it helps.



If the issue persists, follow the next troubleshooting steps.

Download and install the latest USB drivers from the manufacturer website and check if it resolves the issue.

Try this:

1. Open an admin command prompt
2. diskpart
3. automount enable
4. exit

This should force your PC to 'see' new devices. Otherwise, you might have a faulty drive. Can you access and read the drive on another PC?
