Windows 10: Performance comparison

Discus and support Performance comparison in Windows 10 Performance & Maintenance to solve the problem; XP is nice, but it is old os based on old technologies - it has a big chance to get random BSODs and so on, where as win7 is based on new technologies,... IMO W10 and W8 are pretty much neck in neck,
    W7 falls behind in comparison.
However, signed in with a 'fully blown' MS account with tons of apps running and syncing your stuff in the background is a bit more sluggish than a bare bones local account.

If benchmarks are of any relevance, I had W7, W8.1 and W10 (first version ) at same time on same machine and W8.1 was several percent faster than W7 and W10 was in most places faster than W8.1 only by one or less %. So far for benchmarks, real life comparison was not valid as W8.1 is on SSD and others were on HDDs.

    Good call...???
I beg to differ. It is, at best, a grotesquely cynical, money grubbing move with absolutely no regard whatsoever for their client base.

However, it won't make much difference, as people will go right on using it for many many years to come.

    well Rickkins,

i will not change my words, but everybody uses what he wants.

I do not think MS is grubbing that more money, Win 8 and 8.1 where a steal for those who bought this.

I sit on 6 licenses right now and that did not cost so much.

I appreciated the new techs in Windows XP, 7 and 8.1 when they arrived, but I always felt a lack of awesome innovation.

Performance wise I get better fps in skyrim and tf2 with other games staying about the same. Though I've had some issues with the task bar not responding at times. The os runs pretty good on ssd though firefox has been ctd lately which is odd. Though it seems it happens most when I go on the steam website so it can be a site issue can't say for sure or possibly one of my add ons is interfering.

Exactly....if only the taskbar could have a more modern look....if only the Charms back would be back.....

Then one did not have to look for 3d party solutions.
