Performance difference between windows when one is focused vs none

    Hi all,

I've recently moved from windows 7 to 10 (very late I know) and am working on an Unreal Engine 4 project. I've found that when displaying two UE clients and focusing on one the other client fps drops dramatically e.g. the focused window was at 50-60 fps and the non-focused window was at 5-10 fps.

This was not a problem in Windows 7 (which balanced the fps for both clients), and only happened on Windows 10.

I also noted that if another 3rd window is focused the two UE windows run at very similar frame rates.

I had also seen the GPU hardware acceleration scheduling, but we are using a windows version 1809 which is it came out in version 2004 so there is no options for this.

Any help would be really appreciated

    Thanks

    :)

    Cannot update to 1903

In place upgrade repairs and Windows upgrades cannot be performed successfully while in safe mode.

Instead perform upgrades while in clean boot.

Once you have ran through the steps in the upgrade check list then perform an upgrade in clean boot using the Windows 10 iso.

It may be successful after running through the check list.
If not it should generate the better error code.
Panther logs can be scanned to see if there are focused troubleshooting steps.
